Review: Library of Souls

Library of Souls Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

It took me a while to finish the book not because I don't like it but rather I want to savor every word and wonder about the photos as well.

I leave you with some quotes I picked up towards the end.

* * *
Goodbye, goodluck, and thank you
p282

There was something sweet about holding a tangible thing that had been touched ans marked upon by someone I loved.
p439

I miss you like mad. I know I shouldn't talk like that... it only makes this harder. But sometimes I can't help it.
p440

Sometimes we want things so badly, we imagine they're real
p448

And it occured to me, standing there, just breathing with her, quiet settling around us, that those might be the three most beautiful words in the English language.

We have time.

Sunday Stroll

Yesterday afternoon, Mother Nature intervened with our plan and sprinkled some rain our way. Hubby and I were supposed to romantically burn some calories together with the setting sun but rain happened.  So instead of the usual waiting game while D is training, we brought our running shoes and head out for a morning walk.

Along the way we would point out huge mansions and wondered about their habitants.  We were both impressed by one with an aviary.  Which made him ask, do I want one? Not the aviary, the big house.  Dutifully I answered, I never wanted a big house.  If I've set my heart on it, I could've pushed the two of us to work overseas, get those dollars for us to be able to afford and build one.  All I ever wanted is for us to be together as one family.  Funny, I almost sang the chorus to Danny's Song #AngCheesyLang

Boo-Yah

Holtzmann - New Girl Crush
Makes me want to have a haircut and get me a pair of those yellow geeky glasses 😀

Thought Secret Life of Pets is on this weekend so I promised a movie date with D.  I was hesitant to go for the gender-bender version of this classic flick but the underdog-lover in me would like to give the worst trailer in youtube awardee a chance.  I'm glad I did.  I got spooked on some ghost sightings and was a bit worried about the little girl.  She assured me though that she's perfectly fine and seemed entertained.

Managed to convince my two dates to sit tight till the end credits with me as I oggled on the eye candy's hilarious dance moves.

I hate to admit it but, I am looking forward for the next installment.

Now I'm even more curious about Jacob's peculiarity.

Spontaneous SunDate

After D's training, hubby nonchalantly shared his intention to have lunch in Tagaytay.

Hubby had his usual Roast Beef with Mashed Potatoes on the side. The little girl tried the chicken strips and rice. I went for the classic lasagna anticipating D would want her share of it as well. Of course, blueberry cheesecake it is for dessert! 🐷

Loitered around for a bit while waiting for our orders. It was only then did I notice the colorful umbrellas wittingly providing eye candy and shade to the restro's patrons. Galeng! No matter how many times we come back, there's a fair share of new stuff mixed in with the tried and tested.

Just a Piece of Your Puzzle

Ha! I did something I haven't done in a looooong time. Go on a movie date (a local flick at that) with me, myself and I 😀

Yup, there goes my moolah. I had to kill time while hubby plays catch up with his ex-officemates. I was not feeling well and the last thing I want to do is feel frustrated while I drool over items on sale from one shop to another. Neither do I want to pigout or stay in overcrowded coffeeshops.

If it was up to me, I'd pick a different film. Time wasn't on my side.

Kaya ayun.

So, I leave you with this quote from the movie.

No Saturdate

Training was cancelled.  So we're stuck at home.  Luckily, The BFG is now available for streaming.

D and I get to bond over graham balls and talk about hormones and who else in her class got hit by puberty.

I keep holding off posting stories in my blog again.  I have to off load--free my mind on details I feel I will regret when forgotten.  So, I dare say: 2016 Second Half, prepare to die!  Oops, wrong battle cry haha

Make more memories.  There is no better time than NOW.
