Friday night while buying groceries with hubby, these black plantains caught my attention, ang hahaba kaya! So we bought one out of curiousity knowing fully ako lang kakain neto sa house. After cutting it up, I tasted it as it is, nyak ang pakla. Well the tag did say when it's color yellow, it is great when baked with some egg and butter. I've researched just now, niluluto pala talaga sya pag ganyang green ang balat kasi hilaw pa nga. It's still sitting inside our fridge, will try later to deep fry it with brown sugar mala-bananaQ baka masarap nga :D

The tower is on the move to oust the Queen. I hate politics. Early off was already declared by our HR but I just can't go home yet. Hubby's still at work waiting for his turn to be relieved from work too. It's a sad fact but his team's the last to go whenever fortuitous events occurr.

Anyways, I was reading the update for N@W's Christmas Party and I sure envy confirmed attendees. I know it'll be fun with lots of freebies to boot. I don't hubby will have a change of heart about it though *sigh*

CEB Piso fare is back.. hmm.. esep-esep ulit hehe :D I've already plotted our budget for me and my sister's HK Trip next year and looks feasible so far. Hopefully once my EON cyberaccount is activated, I'll get transfer funds from paypal and I can book our tickets already :D can't wait.. can't wait.

Money is In

Yep, we now have it in our hands *insert greedy smile* aahh 13th month pay. If there was actually a 13th month after December, it'll be the most unluckiest month we're actually look forward to hehe Of course the money didn't remain untouched not even for a single day, as much as I would like to "stock up" I have a pledge for my bro's wedding so there that's money gone (for good reason) and well there's cards to pay .. you get the picture.

... and so are we. konek? wala lang hehe :D As much as I would like to rant about our "very reliable" wi-fi connection c/o of (apple, sorry dear but i hate your company right now) SmartBRO, i just have to make do with the time i have right now and blog about something more important. Anyways, weekend was pretty laid back. we just stayed home and spent time with dani. I was able to do some layouts for Dani's 1st Birthday album, yey!

Finance Pitstop

It has been two years since I last check up on our budget sheet. I just got tired of forecasting expenses and tracking of incoming money. Somewhere in between pregnancy and keeping up with the Dani, I lost track of our finances. Maybe its because we manage to pay our loans and get by with our income and if there’s an extra bucks here and there then good for us. Still, I think it’s about time I sit down with my handy excel and plot again.

I have this feeling that next year will be another good year for us. I just hope we wont be needing any unsecured loans and that interest on homeowner loans will continue to drop. I would like to think that we have been wise in choosing our loans properly for the right purpose and we make sure that we pay them on time. It would be nice though if someone will come knocking our door and as I open it right there and then is a case of million bucks. Life would indeed be grand.

Nostalgic

A friend texted hubby asking for copy of our wedding video. We tried one CD labelled "Wedding Video" true enough it's ours. We had a good laugh while skimming through it again. I was thinner then and so is hubby. I teased him about it. Nangayayat yata sa gasto haha :D Ours was not a grand wedding but the sponteneous speeches and raw emotions so beautifully captured makes it very meaningful and special to us.

Side dEffect

Yey, dani’s asleep at last! Already ready to bury myself under our sheets this morning , after kissing her cheek, Dani stirred and kept stirring until finally she woke up despite my attempt to put her back to sleep. At 2:30AM, she insisted that we put her Nemo cd on so she can watch it already.

Two storms

With the strong wind last night I was half-expecting there will be some lines cut and areas which will be needing some power supply repair. Having heard the news, I am pretty much relieved to know everything is ok. I do recall hubby mentioned to me last night that there will be two storms coming our way. There’s nothing much we can do but be prepared when mother nature decides to strike.

Yet another gloomy day

I didn’t report for work today. Here I am searching for “Perfect gifts to give this Christmas” including a plasma tv lift which I doubt I’ll be giving to anyone this year. I wouldn’t mind receive one though specially if the plasma tv’s included :D Anyway, I’m not complaining with our current tube since I really don’t get to watch anything lately.

Another step for making it real

Yey! I finally have my eon visa card. I went out for lunch with Bards, suki ng Tokyo Tokyo Greenbelt hehe. He gave me pics i'll be using for their Save-the-Date cards. Hataw sa preps, bro. So syempre wala naman akong balak career-in to masyado haha.

Anyways, the new accounts clerk told me to wait for 4 business days before I attemp any transactions with my card. Old lady

One of my friends at work (f@W) just asked me up to what age do I want to live. I said to her, I want to at least be able to see one a child for each of my own child. To fulfill my role as a grand parent even for a short while and be able to experience the feeling of having a little imp bouncing on my knees.

I would have preferred to live the rest of my life with my children but I wouldn’t want to burden their lives by taking care of me. A nursing home instead is getting more and more and an attractive option to growing old.

Pop Star on Country Treat

Having seen the movie 8 seconds starring Luke Perry makes me wonder what it’s like to watch a rodeo show live. In a sport where you graciously hang onto your dear life for about 8 seconds or more can dictate whether the player wins or loses. I particularly like one line there about marriage: I guess it's like Bull Ridin'. You gotta stay on and try not to get bucked off.

Anyways, as I was saying, I researched more on the said sport and was led to a page about Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana at the Houston Rodeo. Now that would be interesting, considering she’s the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus, famous country singer. This show is proving to be a promising country treat.

In case you are still asking who is Miley Cyrus, she happens to be one of teen pop stars up there with Hilary Duff, already creating a buzz of her own through her acting and singing career. For Sean

Yesterday morning, we went to Sean's 1st Birthday Party held at Ortigas. Invites says we should be there by 9:30AM. However, we got there by past 10AM already which is ok naman daw kasi the party as just started. At home na talaga si Dani kay Jollibee kaya she was able to enjoy the party unlike previous ones.

We didn't get to join games (as usual) but we did get a lootbag :D When the host asked the parents to open a gift, napili nila yung samin. I just hope they're happy with the megablocks we gave Sean. Hubby says there's still christmas so pwede pa bumawi if ever. The party ended around 12NN. Balak pa sana namin dumaan ng Greenhills. Naexcite pa naman ako akala ko makakapag window shopping galore man lang hehe pero hubby said its better we proceed to our next itenirary for the day :D

Yoga or Goya

Sometimes I fancy doing yoga. Maybe I’ll buy one of these yoga booty ballet cds. I wouldn’t count on me losing weight on this stuff but I would love to try it just to stretch my stiff weary muscles. I also heard it has a calming effect, perfect for stressed out corporate slaves like me. Maybe it’ll compliment my regular weight lifting exercise (read: pickup Dani whenever she wants to).

Popcorn, anyone?

I love watching movies. If I am wealthy enough, our house would have a home theater of its own. Complete with big screen, dolby surround sound system and a couple of comfy lazy boys for seating. Maybe I’ll have one of those fancy home theater popcorn machines to complete the whole effect. What I would really love is to have friends or family over to watch a good movie whether in a sophisticated home theater or not.

I have a financial confession to make. I never ever had a checking account. Shocking I know. Our payment for our housing loan was actually configured to be auto-debited from our passbook account. Bills payments are done online. Should I ever need to issue a check, I often request for a Manager’s Check. So I never really had the reason to maintain one.

Mediterranean Vacation

Last Friday, our company held a General Assembly and this one is supposedly beats all the GA for the year. The reason behind this is the fact that it’s the time when ExCom will confirm if employees will be able to receive performance bonus by March next year. Everyone went home happy. Already I’m dreaming of a Mediterranean vacation and booking one of those cheap flights to Cyprus in HolidayHyperMarket.co.uk’s website.

I have known a couple of people suffering of acne to have lower self-esteem. It does make an unlikely impression to others.

During my teenage years, I was spared of having acne. I do have a blemish here and a pimple there like most teenage girls do especially during the time of the month. I have always thought that its in your genes or one is too stressed out and hence acne all over one’s face.

I have a friend (no, I’m not gonna name you ;p) whose hubby is addicted to xbox. Not quite sure though if he has the xbox 360 but it’s an xbox in any case. Maybe his addiction to this thing is like my addiction to blogging. He can’t stop playing, I can’t stop writing :p it’s been a long time since I got hooked in any games and I’ve not plans of getting hooked again in the near future. Obviously I’ve got tons of dani’s photos. Yet I haven’t had any video of her since she was about five months or so. earlier this year, it was no question that we should upgrade our digicam first then buy a decent videocam afterwards. sometimes my mom lends me their videocam however we have to borrow vince’s camcorder batteries. talk about inconvenience here. Hopefully, next year we’ll be able to buy already.

Can you keep a secret?

In my desperation to read a book (other than Eragon which I've yet to finish), I borrowed this chick-lit and just started reading this morning. I got through chapter 4 and figured this is a fun easy read, just exactly what I need. This will have to do until I get my hands on "stardust" I bought on ebay.ph (yey! my very first successful bid). Although, the total price i paid is P5 short of a brand new one (I blame the shipping cost of P140 for an air pouch bag from LBC), I just convinced myself that I saved myself some time (instead of meeting up with the buyer in Waltermart Makati or going back to nearby bookstores to check if the book is now in stock). Plus the fact that i got the original cover instead of the last one I saw that has claire danes on it.

Yesterday, my (is there another informal word for co-workers? ok i'll just call them F@W --FriendsAtWork-- *lol*) F@Ws had our lunch while watching Fred&Larry, though we wanted to finish this hilarious movie, we had to cut it short since we're only allowed 1hr break. I suddenly realized how I missed watching flick with friends and laugh at kababawan :D

Ayan, eto naman yung ginawa ko kagabi :D Masyado yatang bright yung screen ko sa bahay kaya napa-dark yata msyado yung background paper. Last week pa nakakabit yung christmas tree namin kaso wala pa palang tali yung mga pangsabit namin kaya nung saturday pumunta kami sa SM Dasma para magkabit ng Smart BRO at dumaan na din kami ng National Bookstore kung san kami nakabili ng gold na panali :D

Nakakatuwa na si dani isama sa mall, marunong na nga yatang mamili. One time nasa grocery kami she'll get her juice from the counter and drop it inside the basket, galeng. Sometimes naman she'll just randomly get some stuffs kunwari kukunin ko pero ibabalik ko din kasi hindi sya papayag na hindi masama yun sa basket hehe Tapos nung nagpunta kami ng NBS she'll get stuffs from Nemo or Barney. Gala na shopper pa, tsk..tsk.. Dadi better prepare your pocket na ha!! ;)

I haven't slept much last night. I finished 2 layouts but the one you're seeing here i think was saved in some very bad sectors of my flash disk while the other can't even be recognized by my pc after the transfer. sheesh, bukas na lang ulit.

About the photo: The green jumper was given to dani by her lola mina months ago. She's my tita who took care of her the other day in my post here. Maluwag pa yun nung sinukat ko kay dani, twas in feb '07 pero ngayon, kasya na! :D i love the combination of green and purple, parang hindi sya normally pang girl pero cute naman dba? :D mwehehe

Eto pa, last night sa sobrang takam ko to use ScrapArtist's Fiesta Freebie para akong na-mental block. i've an account created ages ago, but never really got further than browsing at available items. today however i placed a bid on a Stardust paperback. Wish I was bidding for the hardbound collectible version but i've no budget for that plus i will have to wait weeks before i get my hands on the said book, and the hassle of picking it up at the post office (which i think happens most of the time even if you specified the item to be delivered at your front door *sigh* customs talaga!)

by the way, i saw the movie last oct.31, i was supposedly on leave that day but have to report *again* to work to check on some data processing. turns out we've only half day of work so off i went to megamall and saw the 4:20pm screening of the said movie.. by myself :D i was waiting for hubby so i decided to watch it after reading some positive reviews about it :D afterwards hubby and i ate dinuguan and puto from goldilocks *yum* with our sago-gulaman drinks. we were able to buy an animated nemo toy for dani hmm.. for such a toy i find it pricey for P300 pero dani was so thrilled to see nemo in action (pero ang ingay pag matagal na hehe), pwede na rin!

Nowadays, madalang ko na marinig na namamanhikan ang lalaki the traditional way. Yun bang manunuyo talaga sa bahay, kasama yung buong angkan nya tapos magbubulungan ang matatanda. Hubby and his family (with some close relatives) did go to our house then and brought food (I'll get back at you if i have a related post about it in my other blog). It was more of a formal announcement to our families since i've already accepted his proposal hehe Still we believe that there should always be an extra effort on hubby's part to coerce este woe my family and proceed with the wedding preps hehe

Anyways, before i lose track of the purpose of this post, keds and donna invited our families for an outing/get-together last nov.2 :D we had the chance to meet donna's loved ones and vice versa. my dad and her dad hit it off.. as always thanks to karaoke and yes a little bit of alcohol on the side ;)

dani had lots of fun in the water and yes, her mommy made sure she has sunblock on :D i was already doing a layout of her pics last night but had to pave way for my hubby since he has an assignment to do. so, maybe tomorrow i'll be able to share it with you ;)

finally, to bro and donna, i'll spare the speech on your wedding day. as always, i pray you make it through your preps smoothly and have fun before moving on to the real thing which we call.. marriage :D

tomorrow i'll update dani's blog for her 17mos development. it's my first day at work after a long vacation so this will be quick. just wanted to share with you this layout. i've been striving for simplicity and try not to use too much elements which i don't really have many in the first place haha i still haven't started with dani's 1st birthday album (boo) so maybe now that i'm through with my LOMA exam i can finally focus on it ;) i was able to organize some files yesterday though so that's a start :D
