Davao Trip: Day 1 - Getting There

We forgot that all PAL flights whether domestic or international departs from Centennial airport already. We were initially dropped off at the old NAIA Terminal 1. Luckily, our ride hasn't gone far yet. Our boarding time was 7:30 and we were able to checkin an hour earlier. Dani was trying to amuse herself with the red chain used for separating queues playing "London Bridge". She also walked back and forth in one of the ledges and eventually fell. Yes, I received dagger looks from strangers with thought bubbles saying "Ano ba naman yan?"

We were expecting a PAL plane but instead boarded a smaller Air Phil one. For almost two hours, no snacks were served. Buti na lang I had hot choco and chiffon cake beforehand.

These two were fast asleep about an hour after takeoff. Before makatulog si Dani, sumakit tyan nya. Napu-pupu na pala. Eh may tao pa sa CR so we have to wait for our turn. Grabe, nangamoy sa plane si Dani ;p At ang hirap maghugas at magdiaper change sa plane. Wala lang, kakatuwa anak ko, hindi namimili ng lugar, basta kung san datnan haha I just sprayed my perfume para medyo bumango ng konti ;) Papunta pa lang kami, may adventure na agad :D We had quite a fair weather that day, some slight bumps here and there. Other than that, it was a smooth flight.

Birthday Preps: Invites

Included in my package with KFC are 30pcs non-personalized invites which I immediately ran out. I finished this awhile ago for sending tomorrow morning for last minute invites or in some cases, for formality sake.

Our connection seems to be cooperating today and I was able to get an assignment about metal roofing among seven more tasks. I intend to finish some while I post our davao trip in my next posts.

On our way home from nova, we passed by KFC Jupiter to revise some items in our contract. We decided to avail of the premium package instead and upgrade the cake to a bigger size. Also, we've added assorted flavors of selecta's ice cream on sticks for dessert. Hubby was feeling generous so he treated us a delicious lunch in teriyaki boy afterwards. We also dropped by Julie's parents' house to get dani's pasalubong from her ninang :) Dami no?! I've yet to fit her the clothes but I think they're perfect for until next year. Unless tumaba na naman si dani. She liked the bear, yun nga lang wala talagang papalit kay Pup. I'll be on leave on friday and planning to open the dora doodle mat for playtime.

Hopefully makapagonline na kami by Friday para maview nyo webcam namin :D

BTW, May naextra pa pra sakin. Salamat din po pala sa bag :D

Back from Davao

Balik Dasma na kami :) Pearl Farm has been our home for three days and two nights. Sarap kumain, magtampisaw sa pool at matulog.

Will try to post details of our trip as soon as Smart gets our connection fixed. I'll be working today and tomorrow tapos leave na ko sa Friday. Saturday is D day.. it's Dani's 2nd Birthday, yey! :D

At the reception, we immediately changed her dress. Ang kaso, hindi nalabas agad yung pang palit nya talaga kaya eto parang galing lang sa bahay :D In the end, she had fun when almost all of the guests had left already.

These are some of the photos i'd like to enhance and include in her photo guestbook for her birthday kaso nga hindi na nakayanan ng powers ko. I had this plan pa nga to include tidbits of her milestones per month. Anyways, we'll always have next year :)

The case of the Irritable Flower Girl

Last May 14, we attended my cousin's wedding in Pampanga. Dani gets to be a flowergirl, an irritated one. Blame on the weather, masyadong maalinsangan that day kaya nagsumpong. Buti na lang naconvince ko to wear her gown. I cited June of Little Einstein in the glass slippers story she's quite fond with. Yun nga lang, she wouldn't let me put her headdress and her wings. She wouldn't even let me fix her hair *sigh* at least this time, she wore her shoes longer hehe we didn't bother putting on her stockings kasi nga mainit. She didn't walk during the procession unlike nung wedding ni bro. I had no choice but to carry her. Hindi na rin nakapagpapicture with the entou after the mass.

this photo was taken at the staircase of gloria maris greenbelt. She's wearing a jumper skirt here, wa poise pero nakakatuwa lang din yung smile nya. She's in a good mood the whole time from baptism mass to luncheon. No tantrums, thank goodness. She just sipped some crab soup and almost finished the mango-sago dessert.

Yey! I finally finished dani's guestbook LOs. Ang dami ko pang gustong baguhin, some pages I even forgot to label the month. I would've have wanted to add subtle elements here and there pero at the rate i'm going hindi aabot to sa birthday ni dani. I guess it's better than nothing. In fairness, mas maraming pages ngayon compared sa last year :)

I already called picturebooks to confirm when will be the pickup date if I'll have it done later today. Thursday next week pa daw kasi nga they need 7 working days to finish an order.

As much as I wanted to blog other bday prep details, we're currently staying in Nova for the week so no internet after office hours. Last Saturday we celebrated MIL's birthday. Tomorrow it's FIL's birthday, come friday, it's hubby's turn naman. Tapos next week, birthday na nang anak ko! :D

When I was cramming for photos last night, I saw some short clips of dani last year prior to turning one. Haay, senti mode. Bilis nga talaga, I have now with me a damulag haha. I still don't have a gift for the little girl.

We may seem like people who just got out of drug rehab but we’re just happy we got the chance to see each other again. These are my relatives from my mom’s side. We just had our dinner from Banana Leaf and decided to catch some breeze in SMB by the bay. Though the oldies immediately settled themselves with cold bottles of beer and acoustic sounds, the youngsters are dying to party. Minutes later, we parted ways and guess which group I got stuck with?

Like I've said, dani loves to waltz around wearing her "Dress for the Day". In this photo, she chose to wear the green stripe dress as her purple gown is temporarily missing (it was used to get her size for the gown she'll wear for tomorrow's wedding). Hopefully later today we’ll be able to buy a decent (not so formal) dress she’ll wear on her birthday. Will probably check Rustans and SM, where we often find somebest buys.

Note to self: Get some envelopes for the invites :D

Friday night, though I'm not feeling well, we didn't stayed at home. We had a small despedida for my brother who's leaving the next day to chicago to work. Initially he'll be deployed there for six months. I just got an email from him, he's all settled now after his safe trip. He'll come back after three months daw, so we probably won't miss him that much hehe

Bro, I heard it's windy in chicago. Buti na lang hindi ka mapagtatanungan, "Mahangin ba sa labas?" hehe

A day for Mothers - A Celebration

Yesterday, Dani's back to her own self and I seem to be feeling a little better myself. What's the magic word?

SM.

Once hubby mentioned the magic word, it seemed like a dark cloud has lifted. Exag. We were off with a good start. Dani and I were able to do our morning weekend walk. She sang while I push her bike. She sang as we were on the swing. She even insisted she walk some part on our way back home.

We were able to buy a gift for the baptism we'll be attending this saturday. I was able to find our family outfit for dani's birthday.

We had our lunch at Max's, hubby's treat for yours truly. Dani ate a little of pancit canton and sipped some chicken soup. Some is better than none.

If not for the expenses we've incurred, i could say:

Some days are good bad. Some days are better.

A day for Mothers - A Rant

I am a mother. Tomorrow is a day for women like me but I feel like I don't deserve this particular special day. I am in one of my worse state since thursday night. Took the day off and spent our morning at my parents house. Dani, being her clingy self, was getting to me. If someone wants her right there and then, I might just give her away like a rejected puppy.

She is not a puppy, I know. I am her mother and yes, I wish I could take care of her better. We've been having food issues for months now, my child rarely eats solids so her health heavily relies on formula and vitamin supplements. She throws tantrums especially when I'm around. Hearing my dad tell my tita she's spoiled didn't help either. I try my damnest to listen to dani but I just don't like to hear her constantly whining. Ang sakit sa tenga.

Frustrated.

My cousin, Yeng arrived last week with my loot :D  This is where I spent my recent online earnings :D  Buti na lang nahabol ko pa kay pinsan.  If I can use my credit card, malamang madami-dami pa kong mabibili :)  I immediately checked their tags and found out iba-ibang country sila ginawa.  May india, may vietnam pero walang pinas.  I find the red canvass shoes to be more comfortable than the brown one.   Mas malambot pa rin talaga ang Havaianas kesa sa brown flipflops ko pero ok lang, mas mura naman kasi sya :)  Yung dalawang shorts ni dani, kahit pang 4yo na ang size medyo maliit pa rin.  Masusuot nya lang yung either pag hindi na sya nagda-diapers or pag pumayat sya ;p Yung blouses naman nya, malaki pa sa knya pero yung isa kasya na rin.  Thanks julie sa advise, sakto lang ang medium kay hubby!

Movie: Some Kind of Wonderful

I know I should be sleeping by now but I don't know when I'll get the chance to watch this film. I managed to score a vcd copy for P75. I can't seem to remember the details of the movie except from what i've read before. I do recall though that I and my siblings rave about it as one of our faves during our single years. Will post more about it later ;)

Happy Anniversary, Mami & Dadi

We are celebrating my parent's 32nd wedding anniversary. I wish I have at least one scanned wedding photo to post here. It's in sepia, as most of you would have guessed. I sometimes laugh at my parent's church kiss because my dad kissed my mom with her veil still covering the upper half of her face :p talk about "can't wait to finally kiss my bride" hehe

Because of that photo, during our wedding preps I constantly remind hubby to arrange my veil first before the kiss ;)

Anyways, my parents have their fare share of domestic disturbance and newlywed moments. Sometimes, when I catch a glimpse of the love they share for each other, it gives me hope that love can endure all.
