Tomorrow marks the survival of their union for thirty-four effin' years. Unbelievable, really. After all they've been through you just have to give them credit how they loved, fought, broke up, made up and stayed together. Seriously, thinking about it makes me weepy :p

We've yet to decide how the family will celebrate. I hope the weather will cooperate so we can at least have a decent family photo outdoors.

Love you guys, Happy Anniversary! :D See you tomorrow!

Mugged

Originally uploaded by dive-angel (Karin)

I was walking home and needed to pass a dark sidestreet. Just as I suspected, some kids grabbed me and the others took my stuffs away, my bag, my jewelries. I screamed for help. Three gentlemen responded and got hold of another three men.

Jen (L's mom) was to to give me moral support. I almost hit 10 in the face, mistaken him for one of the criminals. He was sitted in the middle where one of the robbers sat.

I woke up thinking I need to learn self-defense. I feel somewhat relieved knowing I have life insurance just in case..

White House

Celebrating Freedom Day
Originally uploaded by diamonds_in_the_soles_of_her_shoes

Mom and Dad are busy cleaning up the house. Apparently, we are moving in and it's been a while since the last occupants. Cobwebs, dusts everywhere, kinda eerie with the walls felt like closing in on me. I have a designated room already with a shared bathroom adjoining the other bedroom. I went to the kitchen and attempted to organize bottles of condiments. From the corner of my eye, I think I even saw a christmas tree looking pretty abandoned.

Someone's eating in the main hall. The plan is to restore the place as a dining venue similar to restos found in malate. I spy an old piano. I then proceeded to the backdoor and the steel gate has quite a hold in the middle, tampered by the previous occupants.

My mom is about the move the car and I climbed in. She must have been driving at 10-20kpm and I'm wondering could we be any slower :p We crossed the street and turn around in front of the Elitista resto.

I needed to pee. Good morning!

Pancakes for Breakfast

Breakfast
Originally uploaded by kitakitts

We've been having them for several weekends now. After a few minutes of stretching on the bed, Dani will tell me she's hungry. We know what that means. She wants to help me cook some pancakes.

Morning stars and stale saliva aside, we proceed to the kitchen and gather the ingredients on the table. First, she'll crack the egg and we'll try to catch the shell. She'll pour the flour and milk. She'll scoop two teaspoon of sugar, a dash of cinnamon. I'll add melted butter.

Dani: *Mix. Mix. Mix. Fun. Fun. Fun.* This ok, mami?
Me: *Eeks, flour on the floor, eggs on the table* Go mix some more. *Smile*

She let me do all the cooking though :D I make her pancakes the size of 25 centavo coins. Great way to make her eat breakfast.

As one is compiled as Summer Mix, I imagine myself contentedly riding a white stallion by the beach wearing nothing but my weather beaten red riding boots, if I have one hehe. Kidding here.

I've read somewhere that Noel Cabangon's Byahe album is worth listening to so I might try that one of these days. I haven't totally succumb to K-Pop yet but curiously looking after SS501's May album. We'll see.

Anyways, I'm off. Goodluck, Monday!

I've been wracking my brain (macbook memory perhaps?) for stuffs I can do with my child. I'm more than glad to see that Paperoni kits were on sale and grabbed the cheapest one. We were supposed to do it on a saturday but one night after work, she pretty please insisted we do the project already. Turns out, I did most of the layout. I ask her for color, she'd pick one, put it between the tweezers and give it to me. She did the finishing touches though and so we named her, Toni.

We'll try to find a flower paperoni for Toni to feed on next time.

While watching either I have to cover my eyes due to sexual content or peek between my fingers during hair-raising scenes or just wait until my heart jumps out from my chest from too much suspense. How can a child forget such movie. I was too young to remember the title of the film nor it's actors. All I remember was one of the actors is pogi (Keanu) and a woman sipping blood from a vampire's chest near his nipple :D

It was only now that I was able to understand the plot and finish the movie with my eyes uncovered. I still cringe at gory stuffs and when Mina kissed the old Van Helsing, eww!

I'm about to go through the FAQ and check if I missed an oximeter or anything else. Later!

SM Fairview Storyland

Storyland Fairview
Originally uploaded by kitakitts

It's been a while since the last time Dani saw her cousins from hubby's side. We decided to treat the little kids summer break and all. Hubby doesn't want to brave the crowd and traffic in trinoma, so off we went to SM Fairview.

I only brought the P&S with me and I wasn't feeling trigger happy that day so I only got few decent shots. The kids signed up for their membership and we bought them ride all you can tickets. Next time, we can buy tickets at P280 instead of the regular fee of P360 per kid.

Note to self: search for the receipt, submit photo for the membership card.

Weekend Photo: Leaves Twigs Blooms

Hubby attended their company's outing in Caylabne, so Dani only has me as company yesterday. Not that she's complaining but I know she misses her dad. Anyway, I planned ahead and bought a small art book from NBS last friday to get some projects we can do to pass time.

During our morning walk, we searched and gathered some leaves, twigs and blooms we can use for later. She couldn't wait to use them so we setup the materials as soon as we got home. A good hour was spend slapping, tapping, smothering paint on stuffs. It would've been more fun if not for the mess we had to deal with afterwards :D

No more floaters

Originally uploaded by kitakitts

Today is her 6th swimming session with Teacher Betty. On her first day, she told me teacher asked them to remove their floaters. I'm glad she obeyed and didn't insist on wearing them. I guess she's so happy now that she really can go under the water.

I haven't attended any of her sessions yet but I've seen her improvement when my family came over last Saturday to swim. This little girl is a bit mayabang ha and malakas ang loob but she knows her limits. Several times she'd ask me to move a couple of feet away from her and she'd swim to me. Also she loves to touch the floor with her hands. She went 7feet below with Tito Edwin. Maybe she gets her courage from assuming all of us are good swimmers haha

I don't have the photos with me taken last Saturday yet (paging tekeng). Will update this post the soonest I get them ;)

Followed a delicious aroma and came to a house selling barbecued pork on sticks. The guy was hitting on me. As if on cue, hubby was walking towards me, crispy liempo on hand, to the rescue. *checks note* It was the lady pala beside the creepy guy who was crazily waving the liempo (maybe one of their promotional items). But hubby did came and we walked back home.

Kris, yes the celebrity, was my cousin and she doesn't seem to know that she's nude down there. I think I woke her up. She showed me her accessories and I fancied a beautiful blue turquoise bracelet. She nonchalantly gave it to me since it was supposed to be my birthday. In return, I told her to wear panty.

I forgot to blog about the pasta sauce I made a few weeks back. One of our neighbors harvested their tomatoes and was selling probably more than 1/4 of kilo for less than P20. Hubby asked me what I am up to and I told him to just wait.

I googled, "How to peel whole tomatoes" and though I did not follow the steps as is, minutes later, red plump skinless (seedless) tomatoes are at my blender's mercy.

Simmered with garlic and mushroom and generously flavored with basic leaves, the end result was indeed better than instant pasta sauce. I am more than proud to serve my thick rich sauce on top of spinach fettuccine.

Easy peasy ;)

As an afterthought, maybe real tomatoes are good alternative for adipex.. but don't take my word for it ;)

If hubby can get away with it, he'd throw this damn old thing out (huhu dark circles around eyes). Still, I insists it stays with us. I tried to teach the little girl the sequence of keys for Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star but maybe I should've started with Mary had a little lamb as it only has about 3 keys. Most of the time though you'd just hear her tinker with the piano. So long as she doesn't bang on the keys, what others may consider as noise is simply music to my ear.

Before her fire truck engine tent, she'd sleep with the pillow around her like so. When she's fast asleep, hubby would take out the pillows na, for fear they'd fall and suffocate the little girl. Reasonably paranoid.

Just this morning she woke up without her pillow house. Since she's awake already, I obliged and she's one happy camper once more. Now it's pillows, next time what would it be? door mats maybe? LOL

Hubby is not so fond of Pepper

Pepper Lunch-19
Originally uploaded by Our Awesome Planet

Even so, to celebrate her birthday, L was kind enough to treat us for dinner last Friday at Pepper Lunch Greenbelt. With some spare time, I get to buy pasalubong for the little girl first. Around 630pm, my dinner dates have arrived (well except for hubby who came in quite late).

It was all our first time to try the restaurant. Based from reviews, I ordered Beef Pepper Rice for Hubby and Beef Curry Rice for me. L tried the Salmon Pepper Rice while S savored the Chicken Terriyaki Rice. We got to taste the Chicken Sesame Salad, yummy. I forgot to try their corn and crab soup though, maybe next time. After eating their huge serving of rice, I might need something for quick weight loss *sigh*

For dessert, we had the molten cake ala mode and crepe cake, love the former better. If they'll serve this sort of green tea dessert, then maybe I'd visit again and would try their combo meals naman ;)

Thanks and HBD again, L! :D

Hubby was out for work last Saturday. Since he wasn't able to go to the market, we decided to replenish our stock from the supermarket Sunday morning instead. Good thing we haven't received any party invitations for the week.

Knowing we'll proceed to SM afterwards, Dani said she's so excited to attend mass. We headed straight to the grocery before the weekend crowd started coming in. While the little girl was tiring herself in Wonderland, hubby and I were floating in wonderland ourselves with an hour and a half of body massage from BodyTune. We were starved after our session. It was already 3pm and Dani suggested we have lunch and eat noodles in Chowking.

Recharged, we began our search for THE school bag. On the way to the counter, we picked up a few stuffs for the princess. Dani fell asleep on our way home though I tried not to let her since it'll affect her bedtime schedule later. True enough, she woke up at 8pm and didn't go back to bed till 11pm. Meanwhile, while waiting for sleep to come, she played with pup inside her new tent. How I got the tent is a rant post soon to come.

Anyways, I'm just glad the little girl is happy and she's already telling me how she'll share it with her friends. Hopefully, I'll be able to get the blue police car next time.

WLW: Why Do I Love Easter Sunday?

Happy Easter
Originally uploaded by kitakitts

Admittedly, now that I'm a parent, Easter Egg Hunting has taken the limelight from the resurrection of Jesus. We woke up early as the activity will start at 8:30AM.

Due to limited prizes/eggs, the organizers asked the children to look for only one egg. There are 4 real eggs and 30 plastic ones. Lucky for us, we found a real one which equals to a better lootbag and it's pink, yey!

We went home after the mass and the little girl was still holding her precious egg.
Happy Easter

It's great to know we now have this kind of activity rather than just reading it from Amazon books or watching it from tv.

I've been bugging hubby about bringing dani and her cousins to Cosmic Kidz since I've read about it in OAP. To make the most out of our holiday last Friday, hubby finally agreed :D I immediately confirmed our date with my SIL.

At 11AM, we were among the first ones to arrive. Without batting an eye, we paid the counter P1680 (P480 for unlimited play x 3kids + P120 adult pass x 3) and prepared ourselves for a tiring day. As we enter the biggest playground in Manila, I've had an inkling, it would be like taking the best fat burner after a whole day of play.

Moving Up

Moving Up
Originally uploaded by kitakitts

Another proud moment for me and hubby. We attended Dani's Moving Up Day last March 26. We were in school as early as 8AM, talk about excitement. Prior to the ceremony, a solemn mass was held. Dani was trying hard to sit still as she couldn't wait to wear her toga already.

My heart was bursting with pride and joy as I watch her march the aisle. Obviously she knows this is her moment and relishes the attention from the crowd. Several times during their presentation, she attempted to use the mic for herself. I tried so hard to stop myself from laughing as I'm capturing their song in video.

I wasn't feeling well that day and so we went straight home immediately after. I'm just relieved we survived Nursery. I still have two months to worry about Kinder. For now, we are on vacation, yey! :D
