Not your ordinary shopping cart

I’ve first encountered shopping carts when we were building the online proposal site of a local insurance company. At the time, handling cookies and session is quite tricky not to mention addressing security concerns using classic asp. Many stressful and sleepless nights has passed and still implementing such reliable and secured service was for naught.

I have read somewhere, why reinvent the wheel when you can buy one and maximize it for your own profit. Of course some may argue that they can reinvent the wheel just for kicks. My take is that for small time entrepreneurs who might want to take their online business a step further then maybe purchasing an online shopping cart, is not such a bad idea. Spending about P8.5K++ on shopping cart software is an investment entrepreneurs should seriously look into. If you do not have the time and ability to create your own shopping cart then it is wiser to buy one than hiring a developer to build one for you.

Something Beautiful

To all single women out there

who waits

in vain

for

THE ONE.

* * *

You can't manufacture a miracle
The silence was pitiful that day.
A love is getting too cynical
Passion's just physical these days
You analyze everyone you meet
But get no sign, love ain't kind
every night you admit defeat
and cry yourself blind

[Chorus]
If you can't wake up in the morning
Cause your bed lies vacant at night
If you're lost, hurt, tired or lonely
Can't control it, try as you might
May you find that love that won't leave you
May you find it by the end of the day
You won't be lost, hurt, tired and lonely
Something beautiful will come your way

The DJ said on the radio
Life should be stereo, each day
In the past you cast the unsuitable
Instead of some kind of beautiful,
you just couldn't wait
All your friends think you're satisfied
But they can't see your soul no, no, no
Forgot the time feeling petrified, when they lived alone

[Repeat chorus]

Some kind of beautiful (will come your way)
[x4]

All your friends think you're satisfied
But they can't see your soul no no no
Forgot the time feeling petrified
When they lived alone

[Repeat chorus]

Is online dating for you?

As far as I know, currently the ratio of men to women is 4:1. Not to mention single women nowadays have gay men to compete with. With these, the odds of a single lady meeting the man of her dreams are getting slim by the day. It’s a good thing there’s Yahoo Personals which provides another venue for single people to interact with each other. I have nothing against online dating, at the right time and maybe with proper precautions, then you can publicly meet the other person for a harmless coffee date and go from there.

All good things come to an end

Ah, ah, ahh...

Honestly, what will become of me
Don't like reality
It's way too clear to me
But really life is dandy
We are what we don't see
Miss everything daydreaming

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end

Come to an end
Come to an
Why do all good things come to an end

Come to an end
Come to an
Why do all good things come to an end

Traveling, I only stop at exits
Wondering if I'll stay-tay
Young and restless
Living this way I stress less
I want to pull away when the dream dies
The pain sets in and I don't cry
I only feel gravity and I wonder why

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end

Come to an end
Come to an
Why do all good things come to an end

Come to an end
Come to an
Why do all good things come to an end

And the dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon
So that they could...

Dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon
Soon so that they could die
(Diee... Diee... Diee...)

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end

Come to an end
Come to an (end)
Why do all good things come to an end (end)

Come to an end (end)
Come to an (end)
Why do all good things come to an (end)

When the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon

And the sun was wondering if it should stay away for a day
Til the feeling went away
And the sky was falling and the clouds were dropping
And the rainfall forgot how to bring salvation
The dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune hoping it would come soon
So that they could die

Let's Play

dani grass copy

Credits to follow na lang po ha!

* * *

Last saturday, we got invited to a birthday party. Like most stage mothers, I should be excited, right? But no, not me. I worried coz Dani is currently in the stage where she does not enjoy such parties yet. Music are often too loud, clowns are kinda scary and annoying for her plus she gets easily irritated. By the end of the day, we're both tired with her feeling grumpy on missing out a nap, you get the drift.

What she did enjoy though was the grass where she ran and ran with the other kids. I have to be super attentive though lest she gets bumped by a bigger kid.

Digital Framez

By now most of you know that I am a frustrated photographer. With the hobby results to tons of captures waiting to be scrapped, printed much more get displayed. Even if they do get some scrapping done and pick it up from the photo printer, there is that daunting task of deciding which one, where and how will I be able to proudly display without adding more clutter in our house.

Fortunately, my dilemma will soon be addressed. Lo and behold, bless the soul of the inventor of the digital photo frame. I believe I could use one of these gorgeous babies.

All I need to do is plug my memory card or flash drive and viola, instant effortless presentation for my guest’s viewing pleasure! It has a 7" TGT True Color LCD screen and 8x2W built-in stereo speakers which can easily be operated by a full-function remote control. Now if we only have them in our local store, I would not mind spending about PHP 4.9K (USD 109) just to lessen my misery on figuring out where to showoff my photos and concentrate on capturing and organizing them properly.

Arouge Skincare for Sensitive Skin

Originally launched in Japan, a new skincare product line is now available, well again, in US. Among their selection are make-up remover, face wash, toner, treatment gel, moisturizer, skin brightener, night cream and sunblock, providing a total solution for Sensitive Skin and Dry Skin.

How vain are you?

in response to Mhay's tag

You Are 49% Vain

You're a little vain, but more than anything you have a healthy amount of confidence.
Thinking the world of yourself is great. Just don't think less of those who aren't as pretty as you!

* * *

try as i might, vanity is still in my vains (este veins pala hehe) i can't deny. i'm not totally kikay, i believe mejo mahal maginvest sa kikay kit kaya most of the time i just settle for Avon's Press Powder and Double Play Lipstick & Lip Gloss.

NutriSystem Nourish Program

I cannot yet vouch for Nutrisystem's Weight Loss Program. It believe it's relatively new as compared to South Beach which is already backed up by numerous testimonials. At least it's nice to know that you have an option which ever program suits your lifestyle. I think eating 3 meals and snacks is catchy, promising you to lose weight and still eat the foods you love.

I checked their menu and it looks yummy but wonder how my tastebuds will react after my first bite. As always, service is not available here in the Philippines. Residents from US and CA can order though.

How was your weekend?

Mine was quite tiring but fun.

* * *

Was planning to do some LO's para mapost ko ngayon, wala rin akong nagawa :p

Sinking Thoughts

a while ago, someone asked me, san and walk to today, sabi ko..

"bibili kami mamaya ng lababo, how romantic." *rolls eyes*

my friend beside me said,

"kami kaya (referring to partner), kelan kaya kami bibili ng lababo."

haay, wake up call. iba rin talaga when you have something you look forward to no.. like.. marriage.

Nose bleed

mid-year review discussion's done already with my boss whacking his brains on skills we've yet to develop. its a good thing really, kami rin nman makikinabang nun diba. yes, there's a big BUT coming.. ok.. however na lng hehe :D .. However, my mind is no longer sponge-like as when I was as little as Dani.. in other words, mejo hirap na rin ako pumick-up ng bagong technologies. hindi pa nga advance ang skill sa VS.NET 2003 magre-release na naman ng "Orcas" sus. Sakit sa ulo talaga. Plus the issue of MS's money-making scheme on certification tsk..tsk..tsk.. cge na nga, magja-java na lang ako hehe :D marunong naman ako ng C# so baka syntax na lng din ang difference, anjan naman ang www for help in case i get stuck :D

* * *

my previous boss is celebrating his 15th anniversary next friday. umoo nman ako nung tinanong ako if i want to say something to him captured in video para sa ginagawa nilang presentation. wala lang, nakwento ko lang kasi he's not evil naman eh, he's just doing his job at the time na nagkaron kami ng misunderstanding way back :)

Ultimate Hearthrob of the 80's

Well at least for me, my vote goes to --> Thomas Alden Page I was just scanning my site's recent referrers and saw someone googled the keywords, Tommy Page and Marriage and something just sparked inside me. Haay.. he was rumored to be gay or minsan may nagco-comment na mukha syang bading but nonetheless, crush ko talaga sya :D sama mo pa yung talent nya to write songs and actually sing them..

note ko na lang din dito ung tv series dati na "Party of Five" where Jennifer Love Hewitt was discovered. Crush ko dun yung kuya nila and of course Jeremy London :D Add mo pa si Jamie Walters, forgot the name of his "band" and tv series pero sya kumanta ng Hold on chka ung group nila kumanta ng "How do you talk to an angel".. i remember na.. The Heights.

Pwede sama ko na rin dito si Robbie Williams hehe, delicious uber.. in my greatest immitation of dani's.. "yummy!" hehe

I feel in itch

I have just converted my Yahoo photos to my flickr account and got upgraded to free 3Mos of Pro Account. Will try to shoot more but for now I'll leave you with these :D

EDIT: err.. wrong grammar :)

Sudoku, anyone?

For some, it may be easy to solve this popular math puzzle. However, there are kids who will just scratch their head with numbers beyond the tips of their fingers and toes. It’s a good thing we have an option of innovative tutor
without worrying if we have availed the services of a “terror” teacher who issue punishment to our kids whenever they fail to answer their questions correctly.

I totally agree with their message that when children love to learn, they'll learn. Currently contemplating on enrolling Dani to the said program. We'll see.

* * *

*muah*

Keep Cash

Sharing with you a newonline coupons site. They have Barnes & Noble in their merchant list with a 40% discount should you want to purchase Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. That's already a $8+ savings there. So anyone of you who wants a copy now, you’d better hurry since the coupon will expire in a couple of days.

I find it hard to use this online coupons since most of the merchant included does not ship outside US. Now this I might be able to use since I can purchase digital music sheet and download then immediately upon purchase. Some of you may not know that ahem, I do play the piano. Barely nowadays but I guess these cute little fingers might just do good with a few flexin’ and practice after I have purchased music sheets of Regina Spektor's "Us" and "Fidelity" with 10% off.

Now if only I have an iPhone, included in their site as a shopping tool a cool interface catered for this cool gadget. Can’t resist clicking the “Black Friday” link, sounds intriguing but later found out that you can also add any black Friday deals or holiday shopping story you know of which you can submit to them or subscribe to their newsletter to be informed of any in the future.

Check it out, it may be worth your while and find your gold there somewhere ;)

Gawad Kalinga - Felicity Village, Paranaque

siguro kahit hindi ako EWC rep i would still volunteer for this activity. dati pa namin gusto ni olgs sumali sa project na to, way back in college i think when we first heard about it. naghakot kami ng buhangin at graba, inakyat sa makeshift stairs ng second floor nung kino-construct na row house. pakana ko na may certain area/points lang kami para hindi nakakapagod like may dalawa sa from point A to B tpos may dalawa ulit from B to C tapos from C to D naman, etc. eh ako nagvolunteer dun sa may stairs so syempre sakit ang tuhod ng lola nyo kakapanhik panaog mwehehe :D kung gano kadaming taba ang natunaw at pinawis ko, gnun nman kadami at baka mas higit pa ang nabawi at kinain ko nung nag Dampa kami pagkatapos hehe nagtext ako sa VP namin to request for a free lunch, granted we eat pangJollibee nga lang. Pero nakaset na mind namin sa Dampa, so goodluck na lang sakin pag nagreimburse ako mwehehe we got there around 9am and left by 1130am kasi nagu-ulan din. got home mga 6pm na kasi dumaan pako ng SM Nova to buy a gift para sa childrens party na aattendan namin nung linggo. Kapoy, dong! :D

Monday the 16th

break..break.. mya ulit..

ayun na nga after nya kumain lumipat kami sa kabilang table kasi pinakita ni bro ung pics nila sa laptop ni donna ung asian tour nila (naks) actually, malaysia, thailand and singapore tour yun hehe i was playing with our tickets, fold dito fold dun tapos mya-mya hindi ko na makita ung tickets. i asked bro kung nasa knya, halungkat kami ng bag ko na nuknukan ng daming kalat hehe pero wala, hindi nmin nakita. pinahalughog ni bro ung trashcan sa crew pero hindi din daw makita dun yung tickets.

so to our dismay, at parang ayaw tlga kami panuorin ng sine eh nagtimezone na lang kami, nag car and bike race plus some hoops. grabe sakin sa braso, my highest score sa basketball was 42 :) si bro naka 70+ :) at dahil ubos na ang load namin, naisip ni bro to ask the ticketing booth kung may nagclaim ng seats namin. ok din ang customer service kasi inaccommodate nila kami kahit alang tickets kasi guaranteed seats naman daw, kung sakaling may nakaupo na daw dun sa seats namin, papaalisin na lng din nila. not sure if this applies to all lost tickets, kasi pano mo mapo-prove na bumili ka nga ng ticket at yun nga ang seat#s na binili mo? :) pag online reservation madali kasi my email dba pero pag onsite purchase.. buti kung nag EPS cguro may receipt pero kung cash ala namang binibigay na OR dba? natandaan din kasi kami nung binilhan nmin ng ticket kasi nagkaron pa kami ng konting issue dun sa line, akala kasi nung isang customer hindi kami nakapila kasi mejo lihis nga naman kami sa line pero andun na kaya kami before pa sya pumunta. anyways, in the end, natapos ang movie ng 1am, natuwa naman ako sa HP and will probably read the whole series after i've seen the last installement of the movie :) and yes, gnun ko pa sya katagal mababasa kasi mahaba pa ang to be read list ko :D

eh bro, thanks sa treat, sa uulitin! i enjoyed our date, sarap talaga nang may kuya ;)

Virtual Shopping with Coupons :D

I have only shopped online once for a techie book in amazon. In the end it costs more if you'll add the shipping plus the effort to claim the package itself from the post office despite indicating in your shipping form for door-to-door delivery which you paid for and yet was needed to be inspected by local customs. It was a very encouraing online shopping experience for me. Needless to say, that was ages ago and never considered to do it again anytime soon. Until I found about online coupons where they have discounts for BabyCenter items where I frequent to do my "window shopping" I drool for items I so wanted to buy for dani like some of these robeez shoes:

Friday the 13th

No mishaps or unlucky events so far, not that i'm wishing for any *knock on wood* today is payday and as with almost every payday, we "try" to eat out and hopefully return to our cubicles happy pigs as we are and later still be able to go home without a big slash on our paycheck.

i have been experiencing quite a dilema lately. everyday, as i launch my ever jurassic internet explorer, and eagerly wait till my fave foodie sites finish loading their updates.. these thoughts would taunt me..

"where in the world (read: makati) will i eat today?"

setting a P100-P150 lunch bill is no easy task really. either i eat expensively or i'll settle for ministop's smokey hotdog (P22) or waffle kings tuna salad (P12) or mister donuts bunwich (P30) or a shawarma (P55), but where's the fun in that? Hmm.. then maybe that's the real issue. I used to eat (and still do pala) in karinderias and jolly jeeps and still get to enjoy the food all because of good company, which nowadays is just so hard to come by. busy schedule my foot, an excuse i will always get :( argh, i don't want to die with my fart smelling like jollibee's hamburger :p

how about you, where do you eat during lunch? baon as not an option.

Ayan may title na

can anyone help me? can't seem to edit my post's title :(

anyways, last week was pretty tough on us since we found out that dani's yaya has been leaving her to our neighbor's care for two hours more than twice already. not only that, she even took dani with her to church once, lets say that's about an hour-service, commute one jeepney and tricycle away from our house. not to mention the weather factor, it already started drizzling and tons of factors my head aches everytime i worry about it. no matter how patient she is with dani or how clean she does our laundry and how palatable her cooking is, it's just not going to work with her schedule. her religion requires her to attend a weekday service of which are scheduled during working hours, so how's that possible for us? i cannot blog it all here since i'm pressed for time.

well, to end our worries, we decided to let her go and thank god already got a replacement. however, not sure if the new yaya will be better and if dani can handle the transition well, including us. *sigh*
