I feel old

For the past five years, we hadn't had any problem with the little girl's teeth. Early last year, the little girl had her first dental checkup at her school. Before 2010 ended, she had her first filling for her left upper molar. Not sure if they stock on wholesale dental supplies but we are set on having future dental appointments here. Provided, of course, if their excellent service is maintained :D the clinic is well lighted, colors are child-friendly and fees are same (if not a tad lower) than other clinics in the same mall :)

Omelette and Toasts for Breakfast

Mushroom and Tomatoes
Originally uploaded by kitakitts

I grabbed a pack of Eden Shitake Mushrooms from the grocery the other day. Peeled and sauteed a red tomato, added the mushroom and basil leaves, whipped an egg with mayo and milk. All ingredients scrambled together while the toaster is warming up my pandesal. Sprinkled with salt and pepper. Sliced oranges on the side. A cup of green tea. This is my second serving already, as I've finished the first one while it's hot off the pan :D Immediately I'm transported back to the days when I feast on free hotel breakfast daily. Now if only I can make myself an orange marmalade..

No School Today

Wasn't able to confirm with the school earlier. Woke up the little girl and prepared diligently. Service picked her up promptly and minutes after came back. Turns out, classes for pre-school students in SPSC are suspended for the day.

Discount Vouchers

Still hesitant to avail of promos at group buying sites?  Hubby usually caught me red handed scouring hotel deals.  Things I constantly remind myself before clicking that BUY button:
Don't buy on impulse! I try to calm myself down even if hundreds have already been bought or the counter says there are a few more coupons left or that the deal is about to end in 30 minutes or so.  Read the fine print. When does the voucher expire?  When can I book?  Can I book on weekdays?  Can I book directly with the hotel and not with a travel agency?  Then I take time to read recent hotel reviews and blog posts regarding the said hotel.  Check out the photos and read some more whether they have latex mattress or 300-thread-count duvet :D Read.  Read and read some more.  If the timer is out and I still haven't bought any.  I just think to myself that it wasn't meant to be :D I move on and look for another deal ;)

Eomma at Double Five

Though we just came from my grandma kasmeng's requiem, we, the living, celebrated the life of my mom spanning fifty-five years and counting.  I shy away from birthday tribute posts that reeks with seriousness and more often than not sounds like eulogy.  However, I figured better my loved ones read this while she'll alive than lifeless, right? *morbid mode off*
I just love my mom to bits.  Growing up, half of the time she drove me crazy with her OCness.  She wouldn't let me waste my life, kick my tush hard when I'm being lazy but lovingly reward me whenever I did my part.  Might have landed me one of those Pharmacist Jobs but knowing her, she'll bug me to pursue a career in Medicine should I even try.  Still, the good mom that she is, she discussed my options with me.  I think it's part of being mom, interfering with our daughter's life specially when all one can think of is boys, boys and boys :D
Jezz, what was I thinking?! I can't go on with this post anymore lest I get too emotional and cry.
The thing is, I could only wish I'll be as half-good as a mom I am to the little girl as she is to me.  No expensive gifts this time.  Nevertheless, I love you mom and happy birthday!

I've had a copy of the movie for months now. Both my bunkmates are already sound asleep by 9am, next thing I know, I'm watching an elephant rubbing Robert somewhere haha :)

Yup, as always, I'm intrigued by the details which can only be found by reading the book. I miss HBO's Carnivale series..

Backup Sim

Samsung Champ Duos
Originally uploaded by jasbhati22

I'm a proud owner of Samsung Champ but would love to upgrade to Duos and get a backup sim. Mostly I get spam texts from unknown numbers. Some telling me I'm pre-approved for personal loan or credit card. Yup I get some from scammers who tells me I've won from a raffle I never did join. It's cumbersome receiving them and deleting them most specially when you're waiting for an important message.

Surely an iPhone 4 from Atrix is much desirable but Champ Duos' features are spot on and price is quite affordable. Uhmm.. paging my sponsors, early christmas gift perhaps? :D

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

Oh, Christmas Tree!
Originally uploaded by kitakitts

Early today, I tried playing We wish You a Merry Christmas game for Wii.

Upon creation of my profile, I was given a tour of the room where one can navigate the features in the game. First thing I tried was decorating my tree. I've put an angel topper, lights and stuffs. Next, I turned on the radio. This feature I bet will be most appreciated by my little girl as she can sing along and practice for caroling. I wasn't able to try the mini games yet but I'm looking forward to December 1 to check what the Advent Calendar has in store for us :D

It has been months since I last consulted the stars. It has been a daily habit of mine. I seek guidance as to when I should wear funny t shirts for goodluck or which days are ideal for a date with the husband :D I know someone who reads his horoscope the day after, just to check which predictions came true ;)

What brought this on, you might wonder. I just want a non-biased advise, what's next for me. To go back or to stay. I'm crazy like that. Trusting an old hag with a fake crystal ball to dictate my future. Most importantly, I am thinking of scary thoughts and I want to drive them away. Just something to distract myself lest I get too serious and give myself a heart attack.

Behind the Wheel

Maybe I should stick to riding a bike instead, that or upgrade to A/T car. As preventive measure to spread of dengue-mosquitoes, our homeowners association has taken pains in fumigating and grass cutting around our village.

The other day, our neighbor's car had it's side window broken, prolly a pebble hit it during grass cutting nearby. This morning, the staff asked me if we could move our car somewhere so as not to suffer the same fate.

Imagine my dilemma, no hubby to move the car. I bravely fetched the key, switched on the engine, changed to reverse, pushed down the hand break. Guess what happened next? I chickened out, slammed on the brakes, returned to neutral, pull up the hand break and turned off the engine. Even when it is expected as our street goes downhill, once the car started moving forward I got scared I might crash the car straight towards the creek.

In the end, I asked our neighbor to move the car for me. So, there goes my plan for my Non-Pro Driver's License.

Just Do It

Yup, if only I have one of those ajummah visor cap, this photo would've been more spot on!

A photo of (can I still claim this?) early-thirties woman, mother of one, jobless and struggling to keep her weight down. Maybe I should try quick weight loss austin.  Better yet, maybe I should kick myself off this chair, start with the housework and burn these effin calories. That, I believe, will make the husband a tad happier.  Oh! The perks!

The other night, I managed to watch this film about a popular manga on underdog high school cycling club while waiting for my parents who were driving back home from my brother's house. It tells of individuals who must work together as a team to win the championship. With no support from the principal, low in funds, the coach must've taken cash advance for the training expenses. I've picked up a couple of cycling tips here and there, not that I have any plans to do so in the future. The plot was predictable, everyone went home happy. I must say, the Ace Biker is a cutie :)

Tekeng, let's Nihongo haha.

Gonna Make You Sweat

Hence, I got a copy of UBI Soft Just Dance for Kids. Last time we sweated like so was during AE Outdoor Challenge. Among Dani's favorites are as follows:

One Time
Ants Go Marching
Kung Fu Fighting
I Wanna Be With You
Gonna Make You Sweat

A couple of days later, we were thumping to Just Dance 2 Cosmic Girl and Tik Tok. Can't wait for another sleepover, I'm sure the kids will have a blast.

Biggest Loser

I've always known my stress level at work is the main factor for my weight problem. I tend to seek comfort in binge eating and dining out, a reward of some sorts often during payday. I struggled to find weight loss pills that work, hoping to at least regain my ideal BMI. Not for vanity but more for health reasons.

It has only been a month, the change was palpable enough to receive comments here and there. Tackling daily house chores served as exercise I've been lacking ever since. Let's just hope, my post won't jinx this piece of good news :D

The Tale of the Three Brothers

Bored, yet? With my HP Book and movie marathon, hosting balikbayans, house chores on the side, quite far from it. The little girl has just had her second quarter long tests last week. We are taking a break from all the academic stuffs.

Kinda feeling the lightness in my pocket nowadays. I need to focus on addressing that concern soon. Been trying to suppress that tiny nagging voice in my head saying I'm being selfish.

Bulalo Food Trip Round 2

Yup, took the whole family to Tagaytay friday night. We braved the rain and fog on the way just to savor MerBen's piping hot beef soup. Prior to our trip, it was quite humid and the kids had a quick dip in the pool. Managed to cook beef bulgogi for lunch and pasta for snacks. We had to wait for my brothers before we proceeded to tagaytay. It was unfortunate though, hubby wasn't able to join us. Though they have megameeting web conferencing software available at the office, he simply cannot go on leave. He was then appointed as OIC, his boss was out of the country.

Anyways, we had coffee, the kids had pastries. It was almost midnight by time we got back home. My parents sleptover, including my aunt and uncle. Even I sometimes get amazed at how much our quaint home can accommodate. I wish we had more pillows and air bed though :D

I wonder if Harry's OWL results will be encouraging enough for him to pursue his career of choice. Ron doesn't have much confidence in becoming a healer, similar but not exactly like Surgeon Jobs in the muggle world. I'm starting to fancy whipping up pumpkin juice and curious about butterbeer.

It's one of those indicators that I've fully immersed myself in the book. I used to believe I'm a blue Aes Sedai, thanks to R. Jordan's WOT :D I skipped the movie again and planning to start with book six as soon as I finish my assignments ;)

Flight of Fancies

White Butterfly
The little girl had another dream. Her classmate E, turned into a fly and then into a dog.  Then she laughed and said, "This is part is a little bit funny."  Apparently she called out to him and said, "Here doggy, doggy."

Part two of the dream is about her cousins. Kuya Nathan wanted to catch a spider while Ate Monique wanted a white butterfly instead.  Here ends her dream for the day.  -- 12.12.2011

We recounted her dream with her dad, to his amusement.  He asked dani if she had ever dreamed of numbers prompting the little girl to ask why.  "To bet them in the lottery, of course!", her dad replied.  Ahh.. if it was only that easy to finally achieve financial wealth.  All that orogold, jewels and bling blings.

It is not the solution to a happy life though.  One can have all the riches in the world but still feel empty inside.
