Fancy a banofee?

Got this at Starbucks on our way home for only P105. After all the buco salad and chocolates i've been eating, sarap din nya for a change :D Hubby ordered Peppermint Mocha Frap while yaya wanted Choco Chip Cookie Frap naman. Guess how many stickers I have so far.. five! :p

We're back home

Umuwi na kami kahapon pa, pero alis ulit kami bukas to spend New Year's Eve with my parents naman.

As I've mentioned here, eto yung binili naming toy kay dani :D ok naman she liked it :D medyo malaki pa rin ng onti sa knya pero at least magagamit pa rin nya hopefully until pre-school ;)

Yaya Concerns

I'm writing this because 1) she's asleep already and 2) just so i wont forget about these concerns.

randomly:

natutuwa ako kasi she adores dani and i let her hug and kiss my baby. i've read some mommies doesn't allow their yayas to do so. anyway, she even makes harot with her which is a good thing kasi maharot talaga anak ko. kaso sometimes i worry kasi parang mabigat kamay nya, baka pag kinikiliti nya si dani masyadong madiin or masyado na yung rough-housing nila. sometimes kasi she doesn't stop immediatey pag sinabi na ni dani na ayaw na nya.

nung nasa nova kami, she'll sometimes update me and make kwento about dani and gerah na kesyo nagaaway gnun. like one time nakakandong si dani kay mil and dani doesn't want gerah to make lambing to mil at the same time. but of course gerah being her naughty self (and i also understand she also wants mil attention) she insisted to share mil's lap. so according to yaya, paglumalapit si gerah, sinasabunutan daw ni dani si gerah. now my concern is somehow yaya finds the whole thing funny. that the way she told me the whole scenario as if there's a tinge of pride in her that dani now actually knows how to fight back. i love my child and as much as i dont want her to be an underdog, i dont want to tolerate her hurting someone else either. you guys might think this is petty stuff but i'll just tuck this in my mind for future reference just in case things get worse.

another thing on gerah and dani. i appreciate yaya siding on dani, whenever there's an inggitan or fight between the two (you know nman kids, mine's better than your's or don't touch my stuff but i want your stuff kind of fight, kids being kids). however sometimes parang hmm.. she's flaming the fire. alam mo yung para din syang batang kumakampi parang pinapatulan nya si gerah (which is so mataray din kasi). kasi if it was me, i'll handle it differently eh. pagbabatiin ko sila, although my heart goes out to my child and even if i do want her to have the upperhand, i dont want her to grow a brat and selfish. note to self, i'll ask sil's or mil's observation on this next time.

the other night, gerah excitedly grabbed my hand telling me she's learned her ABC's through her new toy. Which turned out pala are numbers hehe and the toy is actually one of the gifts dani received from a friend. I assumed hubby gave it to gerah so I didn't make a big deal out of it anymore kahit na I was actually excited to use the said toy to teach dani numbers in the future. I said to myself there will always be other toys. Later I found out that yaya was actually the one who gave it to her. Yaya casually told me so herself, "binigay ko kasi yun kay gerah". Nagulat talaga ko and I don't really know what so but "ah ok." Whatever possess her to be so generous as to give something she doesn't own in the first place, I do not know.

i'm starting to get paranoid of her. maybe i'm not taking her for granted too much that maybe she knows too much about us. it's all good if only she keeps it to herself. diba nga i try to always just look at a persons good points so i dont think she'll make chismis about us. ok, i wont try to be specific as you guys will then know more than you should about us hehe so let me just say that with my short talks with sil (who chats with yaya), yaya tells her a thing or two which i think is not proper. why would they even talk about it is beyond me, tsk. now i don't want to think anymore as to why sil shares with me what yaya shares with her. ahh, it's just too much to think. why doesn't people just mind their own business no? and just ask directly if they want to know or express something.

so now i'm thinking it's kinda like telling myself to ask yaya what other stuffs has she been telling everybody else para i can stop speculating that she's making chismis about us :p pero that's a different thing naman as if matanong ko yun diba? :p

anyways, i feel bad thinking all these concerns kasi mabait naman sya. pero pano kung hindi naman pala sya mabait talaga haha. i haven't discussed this with hubby yet. i just want to blind myself and really believe that i've scored a perfect yaya :p tolerable pa naman ang concerns. better to have one than have none, diba? caution and monitoring lang talaga kelangan haay.

Last working day for 2008

I cancelled my VL since I thought I will be able to accomplish some stuffs before the year ends. Morning i was able to catch up with some mails. Had a saisaki lunch buffet, a despidida of sorts for our of our BAs. Thanks to my dear friend, Olgs. We chatted the whole afternoon.

Not much luck.

I've read about this planner in paultoni's blog and eventually after office went to powerbooks greenbelt to buy one. Already I'm looking forward to try something different and use the free special waxing service coupon next year ;) Pray I'll be able to maximize whatever this planner has to offer ;)

Afterwards, we went to Rustans to look for something to buy for Dani. I have sodexho GCs which I can use there. Yun talaga intention ko, ang magamit na yung mga GCs bago ko pa makalimutan at magexpire (though dec08 pa expiration hihi). Can't wait for Dani to see her new stuffs. Will post photos soon once we're back home na. We'll be leaving tomorrow. I miss na rin our house and our privacy hihi. Before then I hope I'll be able to do your tags!

So I'm off to bed. I'm just glad work for 2007 has already ended.

More Photos

I don't think I can do Gerah's 4th birthday photos so eto na lang

I swear these two are so kulit together. Away-bati ang storya nila.

Not so greeting-card-ish, ey?!

Star City Photos

Nakiusap lang kami magphoto opp dito kasi entrance tickets lang binili namin

Mami, ayaw!

My pamangkin doesn't want to go inside; Dani doesn't want to be near any of their props *sigh*

Slide! One more!

No tokens please!

Kwento here.

First Communion

I am a bit to surprised that there is such a thing as first communion invitations. I could barely remember my first communion. I was seven then, the usual age where one gets to finally have a piece of christ’s body. I do remember feeling more adult-like afterwards. Dressed in my white gala, we just attended the mass and went home.

Cold December

I don’t think I could ever live in Alaska or any place where one would need volcom clothing. I would surely love to experience snow and see an iceberg or stand on miles and miles of ice, still living on extremely cold temperature is another thing. For now, I relish every cold breeze coming our way for the first quarter of 2008.

Ark of Avilon: Kwento Galore

Can we agree to call it Avilon’s Ark? hehe

Anyways, I’ve been itching to pay the place a visit since I’ve read about it at Anton’s blog. Dec. 25, we went to my parents place to celebrate Christmas as we’ve already spent our Noche Buena at my in laws.

While having lunch, my mom told us she wants us to visit our uncle in pasig. Aha, perfect chance for us to go to the zoo, lapit lang kasi yun dun. So I immediately told my siblings about it and they too agreed that it might be a good family pasyalan. For one, it’s a great family photo opp since we have perfect attendance. Also, we’re pretty sure that Dani and her cousin Zack, who both love animals, will be able to have fun and enjoy the said place.

Though we left our uncle with slightly a heavy heart, by 4pm we decided to head on to the zoo. I was quite worried they might be closed already by the time we arrived. Diba nakakahinayang naman yun. We got there by 4:30pm and had no difficulty finding a parking space. Sa labas pa lang nagpicture-picture na kami. For that day, their park is open until 8pm, great! We have plenty of time :D We then immediately proceeded to the ticket booth.

Eto lang, I didn’t see their entrance ticket prices posted anywhere. While queuing on line, Donna heard it’ll cost us P400/pax, que horror eh akala ko P250 lang based from Anton’s post nga. Hmm so I had to make singit sandali to ask the lady how much ba tlaga yung tickets. P200 each pala while children 1yo below gets in for free. Haay.. so ok, kaya pa naman pala. So I went back to my place in line. They didn’t actually issue tickets, just issued receipt for the total amount paid which you will present to the guard at the entrance.

I just showed the guard our receipt and told him I paid for 9 persons. He just glanced at my receipt and stamped our wrists. Nothing special with the stamp, I think it’s an outline of a bear :D

1st level, here are the animals that we saw (sorry I can no longer remember their specific species): tiger, monkey, puma, jaguar (leopard), black bear, lion. All of which looked healthier than the ones I see from other local zoo, if I see them at all (usually lion and tigers lang din sa ibang zoo). Personally though, I think the lion needs a little more muscle as the tigers seemed more “kingly” than them.

The following animals can be petted: Parrot, eagle, owl, snake, a fully dressed orangutan, white pony (not quite sure if your child can ride it), donkey (you can feed some grass to both the pony and the donkey), a couple of lambs. Near the waterfalls backdrop is a bridge where 2 feet below you will see a crocodile complacently lying on a rock. I hope I am not OA to say that the croc can leap at you considering the short distance of the croc below. Though he looked content to stay laying there with his big fat belly, we decided to linger some place else hehe

So on we went to the ark’s roof deck where we saw the following: chicken and roosters freely roaming about. There are also peacocks, toucans and several other beautifully feathered animals in their respective cages. Surpisingly, we saw not turtles but huge tortoises and yes, you can also pet and feed them if you like :D some kids even had a kick sitting on top of them! My dani on the other hand agreed to go inside a pen with the rabbits, much to her delight. Carrots are provded to the children encouraging rabbits to come near them and be touched . I think you can also go inside the goat’s pen, mukha naman silang malinis tapos cute din naman kasi some are tisoy looking hehe..

It was almost 6pm when we decided to head on back home. As much as I wanted to taste whatever Café Amadeo had to offer, I have to pass since there’s a lot of holiday leftovers to feast on later.

Now, I ask myself: Is it worth your while to visit Avilon’s Ark? Is it overpriced at P200/pax compared to Manila Zoo with its hippos and elephants at low ticket price? I’m afraid I wont be of much help to you. I guess it was a fun trip because I have a child who loves animals and is already familiar with most of them already. She’s also currently in a curious stage, a little bit scared every now and then but most of the time brave enough to get a closer look. Time and effort-wise, I cannot afford to go back to the original Avilon zoo yet as it will take more planning to do that. Same with a safari ride in Subic and Coron.

Though I would love to see an elephant and a giraffe, I don’t think they can afford the space to accommodate them. I didn’t see any fish but I think they have two small aquariums setup halfway through the stairs leading to the deck. I didn’t bother asking if there are anymore improvements they are planning to do with the place but I guess there probably will be more.

I would have to agree, that it will serve as a good party location for a zoo/noah’s ark theme. Let’s just wait till group packages are publish before we get too excited on the notion ;)

I’ll post some pics once I get them from my sister. I’m still trying not to kick myself on my butt for mindlessly leaving our DSLR, tsk. I hope you enjoyed my kwento and do tell me if you went there, I’d love to know how your trip went :D

Heaven is crying today

I didn't go to work today. I've no vacation leave anymore so I texted my boss I'm having problems with my digestive system might be due to excessive eating for the past few days ;p

Dani's sleeping so this'll be quick (my MIL's calling for lunch also). I owe you:

RnB at HardRock Cafe

Hubby’s Company Christmas party was held tonight at Hard Rock Café. They had an RnB theme. Even before I was already thinking of his costume despite his lack of enthusiasm about wearing one. After office, I didn’t bother looking at men's jewelry section as I know cheap bling blings and ear studs can be found in women’s. I was able to hand it over to hubby just in time. Still, he didn’t win as best in costume. Good thing people had a good laugh at their group presentation and eventually won.

Accommodation Hunt

As I’ve mentioned before, I haven’t booked a hotel yet for our hongkong trip next year. I am currently checking out room rates at Hotel Reservations. I heard they offer cheap prices than other booking sites. So far, their site returns my query results fast. Will update you when I found a good deal.

Six days to go..

I'm still not done with my list. I'm not even half way through :( kahapon kasi nasa e-pldt kami for our BCP testing. Monday I was on leave naman kasi Dani had fever. Sunday afternoon, nahulog kasi sya sa sofa and I just saw her on her tummy crying. We suspect she was hurt in a way, baka may naipit na ugat or something. That night, she had chills grabe.

Monday morning, pumunta kami sa pedia ni gerah since nasa nova kami ngayon. She just prescribed anti-biotic (man! a 30ml costs P500+). We were supposed to provide urine sample for urinalysis, pero ang hirap pala. Kahit anong encourage gawin namin kay dani to wiwi, hindi pa talaga sya marunong eh. So we went home and decided to collect the sample at home na lang tapos bring it back to the clinic later. Hapon, dumating yung maghihilot and after that parang guminhawa na pakiramdam ni dani. She was her old self na unlike earlier she's so clingy and wants to be carried only by me. After that hindi na kami nagpaurinalysis. Last night, my MIL told me ok na talaga si Dani and she was playing all day na. One thing's bothering me though is she's making sungit with gerah daw sabi ni yaya Rosel. Hmm.. bakit kaya.

Have to go, Minnie and I have to pack gifts for our F@W. I'll catch up with you guys later ;)

BTW, I watched Martian Child last night, and I must say, I like Dennis' parenting style ;) more on that later. maybe ;)

Star City

For the past years, we weren't able to go to Star City. My SIL and BIL promised my niece, gerah, a fun trip at the said theme park for her birthday. So off we went Saturday night, braced the traffic and queued for tickets. We just bought entrance tickets (P60) since we're with Dani and I don't think I'll have fun just yet. I can't wait til she can appreciate kiddie rides :D

Meanwhile, gerah and her dad barely made use of their ride-all-you-can tickets (P450+SnowWorld). Gerah got scared from dimly lit shows, sayang nga. They were able to peek at snow world, silip lang kasi sobrang lamig daw talaga hindi nila natagalan. We didn't get tickets kasi it's not advisable daw for 1yr old toddlers.

Dani naman doesn't want to be near any props whether be it a giant ant or dwarves or the mummy haha tindi ng kapit. Ayaw din nya sa mga rides with tokens. She did enjoy the "metro train" turning the stirring wheel over and over provided na hindi sya gumagalaw. Hmm.. matipid ang anak ko haha

Grabe daming tao, bus by bus pa yung iba talaga. The tiangge was so-so lang din parang ang konti for me unlike before dami talaga. Nanibago ako sa place kasi nga para akong nasa loob ng mall. I guess they really wanted it to be weather-proof kaya may bubong na mostly yung area.

We left the place by 1am. Nakatulog na lang si dani sa car pauwi. I'll try to post some pics later :D

The Godmother

Abie just reminded me of my godchildren this christmas through this meme:

This meme was created to remind us “Ninongs” and “Ninangs” the number of our godchildren and our responsibility towards them as they grow and mature as better Christians. Here are the rules:
· List all the names of your godchildren
· Tag at least 5 bloggers
· Update the Tag Train

These are the only inaanaks that I dutifully remember during christmas:
Zach - my nephew, Kers first child (little did i know na dapat pala you should include one of your siblings as godparent during baptism hehe)
Linette - a second cousin from batangas, she's in college now, 3rd yr i think :D
Angel - a special child, I haven't seen her in the last two years but I make sure she gets something whenever I see her parents who're my mom's cousins
I'll try to update this meme later ;)

The Tag Train Started Here - Bluepanjeet - Joy - Scarty - Yen - PeachyAbie - Kitts - "You" {you put your link here}

So I'm tagging these merry lads if they haven't done this meme yet :D Toni, Mhay, Irmee and Nice :D

Faithfully

So I heard from Meeya and Toni that there's this Arnel guy making it big in US, scoring the sing lead of Journey just recently. I do not have Steve Perry's version here but hearing this, haay..

Feeling Retro

red

Yey, I am now officially off the hook! I'm an EWC retiree and I can go back now to being a normal employee.. hmm.. now that I've said that, I'm feeling kinda weepy about it. I'm pleasantly surprised to receive a plaque of appreciation for the said role.

Anyways, company christmas party was fun, fun, fun! Food was utterly delightful, group presentation was a blast, people partied a little (at least they partied). To sum it up, it was a success. I have major bloopers I hope nobody will remember hehe I can no longer share the details, just that our department won 3rd Prize. Ganun naman eh, either 3rd or 4th lang kami depende kung nagprepare talaga ang Marketing Dept haha

Ok i'll share one of my bloopers lest I forget it myself ;) During the raffle of minor prizes, I was half-heartedly listening since I know I hardly win during raffles until I heard my name. At the time, I was psyching myself for our dept's presentation. I thought that I had to go front and claim the prize (which until now I can't remember what). So off I went, mega lakad with my heels and all, only to realize, teka bat parang ako lang ang pumupunta sa harap, bat yung ibang nanalo eh wala yata. Then I heard the host saying prizes are to be claimed later to a designated person. Hala! Mega tago ang lola nyo sa likod ng stage kunwari may-i-chika sa isang host dun sabay scram haha kakahiya hindi nman ako umepal dun diba at andun pa ang ceo namin hehe

About the photo, this is what i looked like most of the night. Initially, this is what I wore when we danced VST's Rock baby Rock. I had to change to another get up relevant to our dept's presentation. I chose to change back to this dress since my red shoes offers more comfort than my bronze stilettoes. I regret that fact that I wasn't able to get a manicure for my "desire" nail polish and likewise a red bangle instead or the red coral bracelet. Not that I'm running for Ms. Retro Moves or anything, this is just one of those rare moments when I can dress up and be kikay for a while ;) Yup, nag-effort ang lola nyo, I even studied and planned my makeup a week ahead :D I had quite and ego-boost as I receive compliments here and there :D

Free Food and Good Company

nothing beats that right?! So I went by Apple's blog to bite a bit (hehe) and found out about an opportunity for free food and good company c/o Yehey and the Ayala Malls. Of course golf course, I did register even if I know I will end up at the bottom of the list, which suffice it to say is already at 150. The said event has been rescheduled on January 9, next year.

So why am I even bothering to tell you guys about it if only 100pax will get in. Just so you know that pinoy blogsphere is getting interesting by the day. Freebies are thrown here and there in exchange of word of mouth. its a win-win situation :D like i always say, there's no harm in benefiting from blogging naman diba? :D

Kakatuwa lang din :D

Right Now

i'm trying to research about whatever i can include in our next christmas party teaser on 80's decade.

i chanced upon smurfs and tried reading more.

currently have a small, even teensy-weency cough and a huge eyebags, put the blame on late night blogging :p

just gained the one guhit lost the other day, hubby decided to whip up some buco pandan to my tastebud's delight and to my cellulites fright

wasn't able to call my parents re: the pup they want us to keep

managed to download some digi freebies and wonders when i'll use them

have a pretty clear idea on my new header design. if only i can get the photos ready. but wait, there's no photos yet, sheesh :p

don't really want to go back to work tomorrow

* * *

btw, yesterday i was able to buy 3pairs of sesame street casual clothes for dani (about P170 each) and 2 sleeveless from Big&Small (about P140 each, one red the other white), 3pcs of elmo undies, 2 minnie clips (one pink, one blue P40+ each). A retro top for me and my search for the brown/black P150 tights is still on going. Bought 1 rouge red 1 frosted pink lipstick and a white frosted eye pencil (P60 each in watson), a dark red knitted top paired with a shawl (P490net at 50% discount) and lastly a Papaya CD @P150.

hitting the sack, good night everyone! may the crickets and the frogs serenade you to sleep.. ah.. we call it rural tranquility :D

Proud Mami

dani 18mos copyFantastico, I was able to update Dani's blog. I just typed and typed. I wish I could be more specific on her milestones. Kaya nga nakapili na ang videocam sa projects next year kasi syempre iba pa rin if you can see your child doing her thing diba :D

Nga pala, since hindi kami nakasama sa EK with hubby, pupunta na lang dapat kami kay Dra for Dani's monthly checkup and meningo shot. Usually pumupunta kami dun by 11am. Kaso nakatulog si Dani at nagising ng mga 1pm na. I texted Dra asking her how much yung shot (P2K daw) kaso she's not in her clinic na daw so next week na lang kami punta ulit. So ang siste, nagpunta na lang kami ni dani, kasama si yaya rosel, sa SM Dasma at nag-malling :D Before going, I even made a list which mostly consists of Dani's stuffs hehe

Nasa SM kami ng 2pm and was there until 10pm. Sabi nga ni hubby sinulit daw namin ang paglabas. Sa isip ko, buti nga hindi kami napagsarhan haha. Dinaanan na lang kami ni hubby dun galing sa office nila (bumalik pa kasi after their EK trip). So dun na din kami nagdinner, we ordered Nilagang Baboy and Relyenong Bangus combo sa Goldilocks. At ang bata, kumain pa rin :D Natapos na kami't lahat eh nakatingin pa sa kabilang table at parang gusto pang humingi :p takaw!

I'll try to do a separate post on stuffs we bought tonight. Pag kinaya pa ng powers ko magpicture at magpost ulit kasi 2:30am na diba? As always, ako na lang ang gising dito sa pamamahay namin :>

For Bards and Donna

std4 copy
I already printed 40pcs of STDs for these two :D I was able to hand it over to my bro last friday :D Minnie said the prinout is too dark. Must be the laptop's monitor, too bright if you ask me. Anyways, I was thinking the dark color added drama pang emote to the said layout. Next project would be their guestbook :D

Librarian in a Library

Just found out some business offers laptop rental. I’m not quite sure if it’s such a good idea. Minnie and I passed by b.connected last Friday and noted their ongoing expansion. I told her that maybe putting up pc rentals will bring in the green. She immediately dismissed the notion, taking it upon her previous experience. So I told her, ok I’ll do a library then. Yah, goodluck to me. My friend can be oh so encouraging :p

Love Notes #10

Eventhough you weren't able to bring us to EK today, if you'd have it your way, I know you'd want us to be there also :D

Hotel California

Just bear with me for a second here:

Ever wondered if the Eagles wrote about cheap hotel Las Vegas instead? Sometimes hearing that song gives me the heebie jeebies, I hope after scanning the wiki on it, I’ll have peaceful dreams later. It is interesting to note though that the chords of the song is similar to “Fly me to the Moon” which is one of my faves.

What to do with my EON card and EON CyberAccount?

I've transferred most of my paypal funds last Dec 1 to my EON Card for a $5 fee from paypal. I logged in this morning to my EON CyberAccount to find out that my card indeed has received new funds. So true to their promised, transaction has been processed within 5-7 days.

Wonderful, great! Right? No.

Initially I was disappointed as the values did not tally with my expectations. I think unionbank used P40.85 for conversion. There's like a P700+ variance based from my computation.

Anyways, like I always say, better than nothing.

You see, I've already allocated my withdrawed earnings for our HK Tickets which I purchased using my HSBC MC. I was thinking of transferring my funds to my BPI Savings Account from which a P10 fee will be deducted from me. From there pay my card through BPI Express Online or withdraw from the nearest BPI ATM machine. But then my CyberAccount does provide a facility for bills payment. Truly an AHA moment. So, I was able to pay my card without being charged of any transaction fee.

Wonderful, great! Right? Yes. Everybody's happy. I love transacting and earning online :D Now if only I can grab more opps tonight.

Rock, Baby, Rock

One minute I was trying to write a witty post on groomsmen gift, next my face is smacked down on my keyboard. Practice went well today, we’re done with the steps we’ll just have to polish our moves within the next few days. Our choreographer, Nicco, commended us on our performance. I’m glad I’m dancing again but I’m so tired. Now, I need to scout retro clothes. Suggestions anyone?

Brasserie 21

Nagfood tasting na kami sa caterer namin for the company christmas party :D excited na ko kasi masarap naman yung napili naming menu :D Although we weren't able to taste the Roast Porkloin and the carrot cake, i trust they will taste as good as the dishes we were able to try. Pray come actual event, their quality will not be sacrificed by the quantity. Lamo naman madalas masarap talaga sa food tasting. We had bonus desserts: panna cotta with fresh fruits, turtle cake and tiramisu. I'll try to blog more about this later when I get home. Meanwhile, tatakamin ko muna kayo with these:

i was offline last night kasi sobrang pagod na. nagpractice kami ng, yes, dance number for our company's christmas party. saya din :D i think i lost one guhit haha. i just checked opps today, all grayed for ppp. buti na lang the sheriff is looking out for me and gave me extra assignments yahoo! will have to finish them later tonight. pilitin ko kahit alam kong pagod ulit kasi may practice na naman kaya kami mya. this year twice ako magprepresent unless i wont participate in my dept's presentation.

hay naku, nagising na naman si dani kagabi. dumating kami sa bahay around 11pm na when garry was about to transfer her to our bed na (nakakatulog kasi sa latag sa sala) ayun naalimpungatan. pero i'm secretly glad na nagising sya kasi more cuddle time, i'd get to hug her tight and kiss her more tapos i really love it when her face beams up upon seeing us tapos she'll softly call me, "mami" tapos she'll rub her eyes kasi parang hindi sya makapaniwala that we're right there in front of her tapos she'll flash that cute smile sabay hug haay.. tanggal ang pagod pero ang antok meron pa rin haha :D

Later today naman we'll go food tasting, yumminess! hehe perks of being a member of the Employee Welfare Committee :D Yun lang muna, happy wednesday!

High Risk

It is true that life insurance for seniors have a higher premium as compared to people insured at a younger age. Most of them are already considered substandard due to their current health condition. We currently have a single premium variable product, meaning you get to dictate how much premium you’re willing to take despite your age. Word of caution though, when claiming benefits or surrendering your policy, there are still other charges where age is highly significant. Still, don’t let this fact discourage you from getting a life insurance. As I’ve said before, for your peace of mind, please get one.

Tube Shop

Have you ever in your life bought any of those fitness equipment you see on home tv shopping or any products for that matter. Believe me, I get tempted sometimes especially when they keep telling you that you’ll receive such and such as freebie and you’ll save a huge amount if you dial the number flashed on the screen and buy now because their offer is just for today even though you have seen the tvad gazillion times before.

You've got mail

Eons ago during early morning walks, I would look at my neighbors mailboxes. One can see mailboxes in various forms. Some has the conventional designs and other times I’ll be able to spot a more creative and personalized version. If I were to choose my mailbox, maybe it’ll be cool to have the one from the movie, LakeHouse. I wonder who will write me from the past.. hmm.

The bear went over the mountain

Someday I’ll climb Mt. Everest with media frenzy on my feet having North Face providing all my battle gear from my tent, to my backpack, to my toothbrush. Well, maybe oral-b will provide my toothbrush coupled with colgate’s toothpaste. How about King Floss for my floss? :D With all the puffing and huffing I’ll do up there, fresh breath is a must lest I want my team to die of bad breath. Team Pilipinas, I will make you proud!

My Drama Queen

dani dont cry smallI'm really bad at keeping my promises tsk..tsk.. I still haven't updated dani's blog. But hey, I did scrap a recent photo this morning. I tuned out last night around 9pm and I woke up by 1am and didn't care to sleep anymore. Hence the recent posts you've been reading. My baby is such a drama queen lately, nakakatuwang nakakainis haha. I used one of Misty Cato's simple freebie templates on this one. I'll try to add more credits later.

If you will just allow me to share my thoughts on carrot bars. I just love the ones served at Bo's. For P60 a piece for a 3Wx2Lx0.5H, pretty steep but once in a while the treat's worth it :D How about you guys, do you like carrot cakes or carrot bars? Where do you get the yummiest ones? :D

Paypal and Eon Update

Ok here's the process I've gone so far:

Applied online for an eon card.
Five days after pickup card from designated branch. Brought two valid ID's with photocopies.
Paid P350 annual fee and P150 initial deposit.
It is necessary to fund your account at least a hundred pesos because Paypal will deduct about P98 from your account when verifying your card.
After two days I've enrolled my card in an Eon CyberAccount. Your cyberaccount will be activated within 48 hrs.
After two days, I successfully logged into my cyber account. Reviewed transaction history and verified that my card has funds.
I've added my eon card in paypal and requested for an EXPUSE#.
Two days after I logged into my cyberaccount and checked my transaction history. There reflected two transactions from paypal, one deducting P1 and the other P98. I sent an email to their customer service requesting my paypal EXPUSE#.
On the very same day, I got my EXPUSE#, logged in to paypal and verified my eon card.
I have already withdrawed my funds from paypal to my eon card and will just have to wait for 5-7days more. I will update you as soon as the transaction's successfull :D Lapit na!

From an elephant to you

Thanks abie for this thoughful award :D I will try to have a memory retention of an elephant lahat kayo hindi ko kakalimutan haha

I confess that I find it difficult to pass on awards, kasi as much as possible I want to give it out to all of linked and unliked online buddies but somehow I don't want to sound lazy (pero totoo) and unsincere (not true) naman. Pero since these generous people took time to single me out from among their friends siguro nga there's nothing wrong if i'll do the same diba?

Anyways, I'm passing this on to Julie, Toni and Mhay, whom I have been chatting with recently :D

Dear blog,

Be the blog you were meant to be. And so I tried to document my recent activities and yet how could i possibly do that when at the moment I am inspired to do so, my internet connection acts up and kept irritating me so..tsk..tsk..tsk..

Anyways, these to ladies (mhay and norms) were kind enough to grace my blog with this award, maraming salamat po! :D

The award says... “this is the Be The Blog award, which is presented to a successful blogger, one who can “be the blog” - making it their own, staying with it, interacting with the readers, and just plain having fun.”

I'd like to pass this on to mama meeya, through her blog, even if she and her family kept moving around (yet again), i consider her blog as her home away from home :D

Beautiful and Sexy

I owe these likewise beautiful and sexy ladies gazillion thanks for the vote of confidence: Mhay and Toni. Now, obviously I haven't been feeling sexy nor beautiful lately so having receive this makes me rethink the definition of these two misused and abused marketing words. Anyways, I'm passing this on to these hot mommas ;) Irmee, Abie, Cata, Pam, Norm, Peachy, Cez, Maybelle, Nice, Jenny, Jade, Mari and Kathy.

Here's to us, let's stay true to ourselves in our own beautiful and sexy way :D

A good start

I managed to chat with my cousin when she was waiting for her bridal march. Trying to make her relax and ease some of her tension. I asked her where she and her husband will be staying after the wedding. She told me they’ve already talked to a real estate agent and has come to an arrangement to rent out an apartment just nearby her parents house. I think that’s a good start.

Pretty Used

Yesterday we went to my cousin's garden wedding. I don’t quite know how to put it because it was simple yet it was beautiful. Everyone and everything is simply beautiful. The wedding flowers maybe made from local blooms yet they are arranged perfectly well, balancing the colors of green, yellow and purple. I will share some more photos in awhile after I’ve resized most of them.

City of Lights, Blind Me

Yes, I did mention earlier that I was about to sleep already but as I was in the process of closing my opened browsers, in front of me is the yellow booking page of cebu pacific airlines as if taunting me. I couldn’t help myself any longer so I finally bought our tickets to Hongkong. I’ve already researched possible hostels we might stay into but will not book until probably a month before our actual trip. I don’t mind staying at hostels, though they don’t have expensive bathroom vanities, they serve their purpose. Besides we’ll be out most of the time so it really wont matter that much :D I wish I was able to get one of those P1 fare though. Well maybe some other places then ;)

Note to self: Just smile.

This photo was taken last weekend (which i now realized should have been stamped). It was just waiting there in vain, hoping to be scrapped one day, among other photos. Anyways, I feel like as if Dani and I should have more photos together. To be honest, since I haven't returned to my old physical self, I shy away from the camera hence the lack of photos. I keep thinking maybe if I lose another pound or so then I'll be less chubby in them and well look thinner for a change. Ha-ha, sadly, photos will have to wait until then so I thought, unknowingly sacrificing something more important than my pitiful self. It dawned on me as I see this photo that our brain can only do so much to hold on to our memory of that precious moment, which is what exactly photos are meant for.

Hmm.. this post is making me feel vulnerable. So anyways, I promise myself not to be so self-conscious anymore since part of my goal here is to share myself to you remember? So there has to photos here of me every now and then because this is my blog, right? And so I'll try not to sulk any further and do something more in trying to regain my confidence and address my weight issues :p

Ok just so you'd know, maybe this post has also something to do with the wedding we'll be attending later today. Oh well I'll just try not to get them to me and convince myself that they mean well when they tell me to go on a diet or something. I totally strayed away from my original post. I better hit the sack.

Good day to you guys, may the sun share his warmth with your hearts!

I've researched just now, niluluto pala talaga sya pag ganyang green ang balat kasi hilaw pa nga. Playing chess with the Queen

The tower is on the move to oust the Queen. I hate politics. Early off was already declared by our HR but I just can't go home yet. Hubby's still at work waiting for his turn to be relieved from work too. It's a sad fact but his team's the last to go whenever fortuitous events occurr.

Anyways, I was reading the update for N@W's Christmas Party and I sure envy confirmed attendees. I know it'll be fun with lots of freebies to boot. I don't hubby will have a change of heart about it though *sigh*

CEB Piso fare is back.. hmm.. esep-esep ulit hehe :D I've already plotted our budget for me and my sister's HK Trip next year and looks feasible so far. Hopefully once my EON cyberaccount is activated, I'll get transfer funds from paypal and I can book our tickets already :D can't wait.. can't wait.

I hope you'll have a great long weekend, guys! I'll try to catch up as soon as I can. Take care!

Money is In

Yep, we now have it in our hands *insert greedy smile* aahh 13th month pay. If there was actually a 13th month after December, it'll be the most unluckiest month we're actually look forward to hehe Of course the money didn't remain untouched not even for a single day, as much as I would like to "stock up" I have a pledge for my bro's wedding so there that's money gone (for good reason) and well there's cards to pay .. you get the picture.

i now have with me a borrowed neverwhere (thanks mich!) and can't wait to read it tonight. holiday bukas diba, so i'd get to read yey. before anything else, work is calling so better run. sorry guys still offline at home, not much chance to bloghop and answer tags but i will as soon as naayos ni Smart connection namin. They're scheduled to drop by tomorrow and check their gadgets. Until then, eto na lang muna! :D

Red and Green

As I am about to do my regular window online shopping, I passed by couponchief.com just to check if there are any good deals up for grab. There’s 18% off musicnotes coupons which will prove handy when I get one of Paul Gilbert’s music sheet for Keng. Good to know there’s still gap coupons and old navy promo codes possible use for Dani’s new outfit for Christmas. We'll see, we'll see.

Time is Gold

... and so are we. konek? wala lang hehe :D As much as I would like to rant about our "very reliable" wi-fi connection c/o of (apple, sorry dear but i hate your company right now) SmartBRO, i just have to make do with the time i have right now and blog about something more important. I know, i know, must have something to do with the weather, still kakairita diba.

Anyways, weekend was pretty laid back. we just stayed home and spent time with dani. I was able to do some layouts for Dani's 1st Birthday album, yey!

Abie, if you're still waiting for my answer, I wont hold it against you if you go and find someone else but I'll be posting here some of my layouts soon just so you'll see more clearly and know what you'll end up with, ok?! :D (yes people, we're talking in alien language here so hush!)

I also tried one doing bard's and donna's save the date card and here's what I came up with:

std1 copy

Do you think this looks like a calling card? I don't want to spoil the photo so I'm aiming for simplicity. anyways, I'll try to come up with another two layouts before I print them on photo magnet sheets and cut them up.

So that's what i've up to that's why not much updates happening here. Hope we'll all have a great week ahead! ;)

Finance Pitstop

It has been two years since I last check up on our budget sheet. I just got tired of forecasting expenses and tracking of incoming money. Somewhere in between pregnancy and keeping up with the Dani, I lost track of our finances. Maybe its because we manage to pay our loans and get by with our income and if there’s an extra bucks here and there then good for us. Still, I think it’s about time I sit down with my handy excel and plot again.

I have this feeling that next year will be another good year for us. I just hope we wont be needing any unsecured loans and that interest on homeowner loans will continue to drop. I would like to think that we have been wise in choosing our loans properly for the right purpose and we make sure that we pay them on time. It would be nice though if someone will come knocking our door and as I open it right there and then is a case of million bucks. Life would indeed be grand.

Nostalgic

A friend texted hubby asking for copy of our wedding video. We tried one CD labelled "Wedding Video" true enough it's ours. We had a good laugh while skimming through it again. I was thinner then and so is hubby. I teased him about it. Nangayayat yata sa gasto haha :D Ours was not a grand wedding but the sponteneous speeches and raw emotions so beautifully captured makes it very meaningful and special to us.

if you want to know more here's our wedsite. So far no opps today, i'm off to bed early as we don't want to be absent tomorrow again, do we?! ;)

Side dEffect

Yey, dani’s asleep at last! Already ready to bury myself under our sheets this morning , after kissing her cheek, Dani stirred and kept stirring until finally she woke up despite my attempt to put her back to sleep. At 2:30AM, she insisted that we put her Nemo cd on so she can watch it already.

Now I only have this hoodia assignment to finish then and I’m off blog hopping again. Due to lack of proper sleep, here’s one corny joke for you:

Knock. Knock.
(you’re supposed to ask me “who’s there?”)
Hoodia.
(you’re supposed to ask me “hoodia who?”)

*spice girls wanna be, care to join me?!*

who.. who.. hoo-dia think you are,
(Do you think you are?)
I said who.. hoo..hoo
some kind of superstar,
You have got to

swing it
shake it
move it
make it

hoodia think you are?!

Trust it,
use it,
prove it,
groove it

Show me how good you are!

o divang diva dating hehe :D

Hope you guys are having a great day so far, mine's just starting to be one ;)

Two storms

With the strong wind last night I was half-expecting there will be some lines cut and areas which will be needing some power supply repair. Having heard the news, I am pretty much relieved to know everything is ok. I do recall hubby mentioned to me last night that there will be two storms coming our way. There’s nothing much we can do but be prepared when mother nature decides to strike.

Yet another gloomy day

I didn’t report for work today. Here I am searching for “Perfect gifts to give this Christmas” including a plasma tv lift which I doubt I’ll be giving to anyone this year. I wouldn’t mind receive one though specially if the plasma tv’s included :D Anyway, I’m not complaining with our current tube since I really don’t get to watch anything lately.

Happy Note

I don't want to end my day with a post on dying or heart attacks but my heart is bursting with glee right now and my eyes are flashing $$ and i hear ka-ching! ka-ching! with my ears.

I still hasn't stopped raining since I sat down tonight and started doing rounds and blogging. Our home is full of zzz and i think i better join them. So off I go to bed, have a peaceful night sleep everyone! :D

Sisters Lab

I know my sister at one point in her student life dreamt of having a clinic of her own. I already imagine her asking me to join her as she window shop for some Laboratory Furniture or even be able to design her own workbench which I think she will prefer. First thing’s first though, she’ll have to get a new lab gown :D

Arrest my heart not

For I don't want to die yet.

Did you know that the age-adjusted sudden Cardiac Arrest rate is higher among men than women or that the average SCA survival rate is only 607%? Alarming, isn’t it? So I dig deeper into this health issue and tried to find more information specially to know if I am at risk. The videos are short but quite clear and very informative.

Also, I haven’t really had a good talk with my parents about their health for some time now. Might as well cascade whatever retained information I’ll get from the said helpful site.

Paypal and Eon Visa Card

I got this info initially from a commenter in Yugatech's post on Paypal Philippines. Then I found Nierva's post which proves that it can be done. Yes, you can transfer your paypal funds to a debit card which I believe is a better choice than withdrawing your funds as an advance payment for your credit card. There are charges here and there pero in the end you get your money diba as in pera na sya not just some figures you see on screen. Balitaan ko kayo pag successful na rin fund transfer ko ;)

Publish it, Now.

I have read how writers struggle to get one of their books from their desk to bookstore shelves. Having read the FAQ and testimonials onSelf Publishing, it provides another option for authors to finally make it happen. They also offer a Self Publishing Guide book for free for writers who want to know more.

Love Notes #9

You bought me these donuts to snack on so I wont get hungry on our way home. I'll just skip counting calories and just relish this sweet treat :D Thanks, mahal!

Another step for making it real

Yey! I finally have my eon visa card. I went out for lunch with Bards, suki ng Tokyo Tokyo Greenbelt hehe. He gave me pics i'll be using for their Save-the-Date cards. Hataw sa preps, bro. So syempre wala naman akong balak career-in to masyado haha.

Anyways, the new accounts clerk told me to wait for 4 business days before I attemp any transactions with my card. Basta excited na kong matransfer ang paypal money ko dito :D Narevive na ang paid posts ko kasi naayos na nang PPP ang blog ko to point to my new domain. Plus, I'm starting to slowly gain PR again. I haven't been able to really blog since the other night. Thanks to SmartBRO with their intermitent connection plus heavy rains are not helping that much so I chose to read my book instead :D kesa mairita ko to see "Page cannot be displayed" sa browser ko tsk

I owe some ladies hearty thanks for awards recently given to me. Plus I'd like to do some tags like the Peanuts characters, gusto ko kasi sila talaga. I adore snoopy lalo na si woodstock so I'm wondering which character I'll be profiled into :D But i'm trying not to stay offline while I'm at work kasi nga one-- i have deliverables soon to be due therefore I need to be more productive and two-- sabi ko sa sarili ko kaya nga ko nagsubscribe finally for internet service so I can be online at home and blog to my hearts content diba.

O sya magcompose pa ko ng matinong post, just wanted to update you guys.. more or less hehe :D

Old lady

One of my friends at work (f@W) just asked me up to what age do I want to live. I said to her, I want to at least be able to see one a child for each of my own child. To fulfill my role as a grand parent even for a short while and be able to experience the feeling of having a little imp bouncing on my knees.

I would have preferred to live the rest of my life with my children but I wouldn’t want to burden their lives by taking care of me. A nursing home instead is getting more and more and an attractive option to growing old.

Bettercaring is a dedicated service for anyone who needs answers to crucial questions about care for themselves or their loved ones. There is also a community forum that allows users to discuss their own experiences within the care system. Check out their FAQ page for more information.

Love Notes #8

You held your tongue as I scurry inside the car last night. I was probably 10 minutes late but you said nothing. You might be a little irrate (I assume) but still you chose to be patient with me. *muah* pambawi ;) Thanks, mahal (sa uulitin) hehe

Tis the season to be merry

We have so many holidays in a year but there are some holidays you should never forget to give gifts. Don't get me wrong as I may sound materialistic here but it really is nice to give them something that they can remember me by. Now if you're like me, I'm sending you some good news if you’re planning to make your love ones happy this coming Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve without breaking the bank. couponchief.com is here to stay.

This time of year, we usually make a list of gifts we would want to give to our friends and love ones, for my husband as I can remember he wants to have a new pair of shoes so Rockport coupons will prove to be helpful and for my beautiful daughter I’m planning to buy her a new toy using these backtobasicstoys coupons. Who says great deals and coupons are hard to find?

My tonsil's worst enemy

As Peachy asked me which food comforts me, can i say chocolates? :D I like them dark, sweet, plain or with nuts, with a biscuit, in a biscuit, served hot as a drink, iced with a whip, baked on a cake, topped on a chicken (ala chocolat-the-movie.. hmm.. maybe just a taste hehe) you name it i'll take it! :D Sometimes I keep a bar or a box but I wont finish it in one sitting. It's enough for me to take a bite after meal lest I want to suffer from tonsilitis.
