Day 1 - Macau: Getting There

4:00 - alarm sounded off
5:00 - finally decided to wake up, received a text from minnie, she's on her way to the airport already
6:00 - left the house, hailed a cab to NAIA Terminal 1

6:30 - saw minnie, got our boarding pass, checked in two baggage (my backpack and a tripod) at CebuPac counter. paid travel tax P1,620. paid terminal fee P750. queued for immigration but have to fall in line again because we did not fill up the embarkation form (?).
7:30 - minnie bought Smart Prepaid Sim auto-roam for P300
8:00 - we boarded the plane from Gate 1. Keng sat from the window seat with me squashed in between her and minnie.
8:30 - we ate the donuts i bought last night and bought C2 on the plane for P50. eventually fell asleep.
9:50 - we landed on HK Airport 10mins earlier than expected. We searched for the transfer-in desk and stayed clear off immigration.
10:45 - Saw turbojet's ticketing counter and purchased 3 12:15 economy tickets to macau for HKD180 each, thanks to my visa.

11:00 - we ordered our lunch at Pak Loh Chui Chow Express, two noodle dish good, a bottle of water all for HKD120. No dollars yet so we paid in plastic.

12:00 - we went to Gate10 and was able to board the transfer bus to the ferry fifteen minutes after. before that, i was informed that one of our baggages seemed to be missing. couple of minutes has passed, they told me all our baggages are accounted for.
12:45 - after filling up macau's immigration form, we immediately fell asleep as we turbojet to macau.
1:30 - still in one piece, attempting to get my bearings back on a foreign land, checking our "itenirary" we soon realized we needed money for our taxi fare to the hotel. foreign exchange in macaus' ferry terminal said no to pesos. what to do, what to do? No such luck with my plastic for I do not know my CA PIN. luckily minnie has a debit card and miracolously knows her CA pin. Cashing out HKD300 we hailed a cab to hotel taipa.

Lesson learned:
Try to be at the airport 2hrs prior to boarding time
Don't forget to fill up the blue immigration form before proceeding to immigration booth
Bring US Dollars or buy the local currency of your destination
When paper fails, plastic can save you

To Love and Hate the Big G

I am still in shock. I will not write it in specifics yet because I dont want to jinx it. Some of you can tell, given my previous mixed posts. Maybe, it's a sign I'll be needing all the financial help I can get after all the shopping I'll go through in HK :)

That's one goal accomplished for the year!

* * *

Yes, even if this'll be my fourth trip to HK already, it's been ages since my last HK trip and still feels like the first time. All giddy happy and nervous :D Sad in a way for I sure will non-stop worry about my daughter coughing her lungs out for a week now :(

I have to stop now, as much as I wanted to bloghop more and write more (as I've seen Beowulf already) I have to comfort my daughter. Rest I must for tomorrow work I must. Yoda me?

Goodnight all, thanks for linking, tagging, awarding, dropping, passing by. It sure helped :D Hope you had a great weekend!

HK Trip: Planning

So I've finally made up my mind to sidetrip to Macau for our HK Trip and basically here's our schedule:

Day 1 - Mar 5, Wed
AM - HK Airport to Macau
No visa required, just purchase a ferry ticket to macau. Checkin would be after lunch so we'll probably do some touring first.
PM - Macau
One night at macau, still deciding whether to splurge on hotel or book a dorm room :p I sent an inquiry for august.de and we'll see. If not then we'll most probably go for The Beverly Hotel (P3.5K) just because breakfast is already included. Unless, we could stay in Victoria Hotel for only P2.5K and just eat outside.

* I'm thinking I'm missing a lot for not being in HK on Wed, since its when most museums are free for all, o baka naman ok lang kasi wala namng msyadong photo opp sa museum hihi

Day 2 - Mar 6, Thur
AM - HK, Lantau Island
Big Buddha, Po Lin Monastery
PM - Window Shopping at Citigate
I figured we'll be out most of the time so I just booked a room for 2 nights at Dragon Hostel (P2.8K). No disneyland as I'm reserving this trip for Dani :D If we're not yet too tired after checking in then might do a bit of strolling in Night Market. Might even get some of those milk tea from Che Che Teng Restaurant (Mongkok Garden Street Market)

Day 3 - Mar 7, Fri
AM - Ocean Park
PM - Victoria Harbor, Symphony of Lights

Day 4 - Mar 8, Sat
AM - HK, Central, Midlevels, Victoria Peak, Star Ferry Ride
PM - Last minute pasalubong shopping

~~

For days now, I've been thoroughly researching on HK kaya I dont get to blog and bloghop much. Ganito yata ako talaga, hindi ako mapakali hangga't hindi ko napa-plan ng maayos in detail (how to get there, ETA, tips and tricks, etc). Gusto ko kasi lahat ng sulit puntahan mapuntahan :D I even have our trip plotted in Yahoo!Travel hihi

I've been trying to buy our OceanPark tickets online pero nagti-timeout after mavalidate ni local HSBC, tsk. Just for my reference here's my transaction # TKG070308000011

should we buy luggage sets?

City of Lights, Blind Me

Yes, I did mention earlier that I was about to sleep already but as I was in the process of closing my opened browsers, in front of me is the yellow booking page of cebu pacific airlines as if taunting me. I couldn’t help myself any longer so I finally bought our tickets to Hongkong. I’ve already researched possible hostels we might stay into but will not book until probably a month before our actual trip. I don’t mind staying at hostels, though they don’t have expensive bathroom vanities, they serve their purpose. Besides we’ll be out most of the time so it really wont matter that much :D I wish I was able to get one of those P1 fare though. Well maybe some other places then ;)

Playing chess with the Queen

The tower is on the move to oust the Queen. I hate politics. Early off was already declared by our HR but I just can't go home yet. Hubby's still at work waiting for his turn to be relieved from work too. It's a sad fact but his team's the last to go whenever fortuitous events occurr.

Anyways, I was reading the update for N@W's Christmas Party and I sure envy confirmed attendees. I know it'll be fun with lots of freebies to boot. I don't hubby will have a change of heart about it though *sigh*

CEB Piso fare is back.. hmm.. esep-esep ulit hehe :D I've already plotted our budget for me and my sister's HK Trip next year and looks feasible so far. Hopefully once my EON cyberaccount is activated, I'll get transfer funds from paypal and I can book our tickets already :D can't wait.. can't wait.

I hope you'll have a great long weekend, guys! I'll try to catch up as soon as I can. Take care!
