Boss is Satisfied

Commercial muna, we already had our year-end performance evaluation and yes, I received a satisfactory rating. My boss told me that I have hmm.. in his words pontential in my presentation skills. Sabi ko, e di magse-sales na lang pala ako haha. Oh well, we've yet to draft our objectives for the year so goodluck ulit sakin :D

Now, eh ano nman kung gnun ang rating ko?! It means more money!! This year kasi nagiba sila ng formula for computation of performance bonus, yey! I'd get 100% instead of the usual 60% of 3 months bonus (gross po ito, wish ko lang nett).

Ok, yung lang hilo ang lola mo sa compute-compute kung san ia-allocate ang incoming moolah :D

The blue pill

I pray that when hubby and I reached old age, we’ll be content to just hold hands, rocking our chair, sharing a pot of decaf tea while watching the skies of yellow, orange and purple hues as the sun sets. Who knows what will happen afterwards when the moon shines and the stars proudly sparkle in the night.

Junk Wheels

Ever made a car donation? I didn't know something like this kind of giving actually exists until this offer came along. I'm thinking I just might be a very much willing recepient of such hehe Honestly, I would still prefer cash though. Donating an unwanted car would have been a great idea if the site works for starters :p

The Last Quita Bachelor

the groom in waitingIn my family, that is :D Last Saturday, my brother bid farewell to the carefree world of bachelorhood and decided to finally tie the knot :D My only regret is that I didn't get to share with them some of their bf-gf kilig moments pero now that Donna's here to stay, for sure dami pang bonding moments, family events we'll be sharing in the future.

It was raining in the past few days before the wedding so I was kind of worried it might spoil the wedding day. Although they do have a covered venue, still a sunny weather will be most appreciated. Good thing, the sun decided to come out that day.

It was an afternoon ceremony ending with a dinner reception. Come morning, mejo relax pa ang lola mo kasi malapit lang ang Island Cove samin diba, since nasa Cavite na kami :p

We left the house before 3pm as we're supposed to be there an hour before the ceremony. Dumating kami i think its about 4:20pm na! Naka-shorts pa ko and all, I still have to dress my little girl and put some makeup on, hala.. stress na ko tapos everyone is kinda tensed na rin. Dami kasing tao din sa room na pinagaayusan namin eh. Andun mga relatives nmin mostly from batangas :D I didn't get to talk with them much kasi nga rush rush diba. I see them all pretty and madeup while ako eh bruhilda with my hair, slippers and everything :p

I just let the yaya dress dani, make her at ease among "strangers" yung iba kasi kilala na ni dani, yung iba kelangan mafamiliarize pa ulit.. as much as possible i wanted to avoid anything that might trigger her to put up a tantrum! she cooperated naman, nabihisan, nalagyan ng pantyhose, nagshoes!

So pagpunta namin ng ceremony hall, nakita ko na yung ibang flowergirls may headdress and baskets and quickly asked for dani's.

Usually, naiiyak ako in most bridal march eh. Pero this time, I was so distracted with Dani that I didn't get to emote hehe Tapos nagharutan kami all through out the ceremony. Nakakahiya man minsan sa iba kasi she'll shriek at shempre mejo maingay diba pero I've no choice kasi two possible sounds lang maririnig mo, either tawa lang yan or iyak so syempre dun na ko sa masaya haha

Fortunately, mas mabilis yata and ceremony nila as compared kina kuya erwin :D I had to laugh when it was my brother's turn to say his personal vows, and I quote:

"Nakakahiya mang sabihin, nakalimutan ko yung personal vows ko (laughs). Pinagpuyatan ko pa naman yun."

So yun na nga, nagimpromptu na lang si kuya, even so i bet in donna's ears it was more than enough kasi it was indeed heartfelt.

It was a light (no heavy drama), solemn ceremony, save for our ingay :D My brother was finally given the go signal to kiss his new bride and off we went to the reception hall :D

BTW, they gave out custom printed calendars with their asia photos on it :D

Come on Let's play Backgammon!

Some of the games in my cellphone includes Snake, Flipper and Backgammon. I tried and scored high on the first two games but I can't seem to get backgammon. With the internet always ready for answers, i searched sites on online backgammon games and found one interesting site that is simple but really packed with information and tips on how to play backgammon. Not only that, it is available in six languages so you can play with foreign friends and not be lost in translation.

I'm really getting the hang of it, so to those who also play backgammon, there's a downloadable backgammon software that you can use to win real money, or just for fun. And if you really want to try your luck, there are also announcements on the latest backgammon tournaments available in their site. Joining the site is also cool, 'cause it's for free!

Beat the odds

Last night, I was watching queer eye, and became curious about the guy that they're trying to give a make-over. He was a poker fan. I used to watch poker games in cable TV but I can't really seem to understand how to play it. I came across a some poker tips online and it helped me understand a few tricks. I didn't know there are so many twists in the game and with that i tried out Magic Holdem's Poker Odds Calculator.

I personally recommend Magic Holdem's site if you want poker advise straight from the professionals. Their site boasts of what is described as Simply the Best Poker Odd's Calculator around. I bet it would give you the best odds on your next on-line poker game.

FlirtVibes

Good things in life are said to come in for free. With the help of the internet, everything became just so convenient. One thing I like about the web is that you can do and find stuffs for free. I know someone who used to subscribe for an online dating site. I forgot to tell that person that there is a free dating site called flirtvibes boasting of thousands of profile you can choose to befriend with. Members can browse and choose photos as well as upload and create interesting galleries for viewing.

As most online dating site, they have chat rooms where one can flirt or simply create conversation. If you feel shy “talking in public” you can create your own room or send a flirt message to the person you wanted to speak with.

You can get a glimpse of existing members through the View Members section segregated by region. This means, you can find a date that lives nearby your town, a plus if you finally take the chance in meeting personally. There's also an instant messenger feature that will make sending love notes easy. If you haven't the guts or just short in time to find a person for you, they have a matchmaker feature that will help you find the perfect partner.

Dating bliss, no hassles and all for free. What more could you ask for?

The Flower Girl

bro wed daniI am currently uploading photos in dani's flickr and will post kwento about my bro's wedding yesterday in a while. It was tiring (as most family events) but full of moments I just wish I could just click my heart out. Pero as always, my husband is the unofficial photographer for the day :D Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with this photo of dani while we were waiting for the procession to start.

Brasserie 21 Revisited

Haay.. ang sarap talaga kumain! :D Had lunch with co-ex-EWC members at Brasserie 21 kanina. We had a crab and mango salad with honey mustard dressing, some green salad with sliced grapes and blue cheese topped with balsamic vinegar dressing. We didn't order any rice pero wag ka we ordered spinach raviolli with pink sauce chka penne pasta with bacon and mushroom in white sauce. we just shared an order of chix cordon bleu and club sandwich. syempre pa to we have to end our lunch with their winning turtle cake and not-so-special tiramisu :D we have kasi a P1K worth of GC as promised by the owner during our food tasting so inavail lang namin sya today. Nung kinukuha na namin yung bill, hinarang ng owner and she said we don't have to pay the balance anymore which is around P700++. Ayun, kapal muks na lang talaga, nag thank you na lang kami :D

Eto ang aking embarrasing moment, when we were ordering our food na, since we only have P1K nagtanungan who has extra money incase magover bill namin. I told them I have some (P400 to be exact) either we pay the balance in cash or I'll volunteer my card. Eto na ang bill so hindi kasya ang cash ko, buti one of us has P500 so dinagdagan ko na lang kasi wala pala yung card ko naiwan ko sya sa desk ko. Pano ba naman I was supposed to pay my bill using the funds in my EON card, eh sa bagal ng internet connection namin nainip nako't nakalimutan ko na syang bayaran.

Anyways, dress rehearsal lasted for only a couple of minutes which makes me worry pano na kami sa sabado :p Bahala na si Batman, pero lord please make my little one cooperate ;) Parang nakikinita ko na kami yung nagta-tantrum dun sa commercial something about EQ :p

Nga pala, this is not the gown she's supposed to wear for the wedding. Nakuha nya to as a gift on her 1st birthday, hindi na namin naisuot sa knya until now. Sayang nga kasi nakaliitan na.

Family Artwork

DSC_0012Tada!

Presenting to you, our family artwork :D Hmm.. wala pala dyan yung kay gary. Anyways, I'm sure this will be one of the many "art sessions" we'll be having with Dani. I don't think she knows yet what she's really doing creative-wise (like mixing colors and all) but I can see that the activity for her is refreshing, quite a change from her usual watching-DVDs-routine.

As I have mentioned before, I bought some supplies for the weekend. I was able to buy a flipchart paper at NBS and a pack of watercolor paint with more colors than the ones we used. I was opting to buy some specifically for finger painting which unfortunately are out of stock. Either that or the sales lady is just tamad to search for it :p

Do you guys think its safe to use poster paint?

Head on to dani's flickr account to check some weekend photos. I'll try to post some here later :D

Midas

My parents used to own a jewelry repair shop. Business was booming at that time since people can afford to invest in gold. Nowadays, people opted to buy non-valuable accessories instead due to the high price of the said precious metal. Most have forgotten that gold is one of the best form of money. Value rarely goes down and it is durable and can be passed on for years without wear and tear.

Just like what my parents did, I would also like to invest and accessorize with style in gold. It is essential though to find a good dealer such as Monex Precious Metals where they have professional staff who are knowledgeable and can be trusted to serve you with your precious metal investment needs.

Mommy Wars

I bought this book during lunch break. I promised dani i'll buy her new markers for her whiteboard so I went to NBS glorietta and couldn't her browsing their books on sale. I had the hardbook cover edition originally priced at P1.2K+ down to P300 na lang :D Scanned through reader's feedback and can't wait to read it later :D

I also bought some other art stuffs for dani and I'm already excited to use them this weekend :D I've yet to buy a dress for ked's wedding next saturday (boo ;p) parang kelangan ko na tong iprioritize unless I'll attend wearing jeans sheesh.

Money In, Money Out

Ayayay, the money I was expecting to come will be delayed so paktay na naman ang budget. Good news though as my blog got approved by blogitive, yey! :D So far I'm way behind my online tasks (to reach my goal of PR2 for this quarter). I've been busy dreaming of my travel escapades for the year but then hubby and I had a short talk (more like we discussed it in passing hehe) that we should SAVE this year.

Work aspect is not looking so bright as our companies are planning to physically relocate this year. If his company decided to relocate him in Alabang then all is well. However if they prefer to move in Libis area, tsk..tsk.. As for me, I feel as if I'm hanging on a balance scale. Though I do not love my work, I can live with it given my boss and my F@Ws pero naman super isolated yung area namin if ever.

iConnect Here

I think getting an Internet Phone is practical specially if you frequently make overseas call. For only $29.99 per month, iConnectHere is the best low cost, high quality internet phone to phone or pc to phone solution available nowadays. Couple that with great customer service, sounds like a good deal. Hop on to their website to know more on their special deals.

Try visiting their site and should you register now, you will get a $30 sign up bonus as if your first month is actually free. Not only that, you may have a chance to win their sweepstakes where an iPOD will be given away.

I saw baby #2

i had a dream of her last night :D magkamukha sila ni dani, para nga silang kambal eh. yun lang naalala ko hihi :D

Who are you, really?

Here’s something new I stumbled upon last night. What if someone robbed you of your identity, what would you do? Remember what happened to Sandra Bullock’s character from the flick “The Net”?

From Lifelock.com you can take an online Identity Theft Quiz and see how great you are at risk of such crime. I took it myself and got a score of 47.7 meaning I am moderately at risk of identity theft.

I do not want to end up paranoid of becoming a victim of identity theft but it’s good to be reminded of the following:

Shred papers containing my personal information
Secure my bills and incoming mail (we should get a mailbox, really)
Be wary when leaving personal information at home where it can be easily viewed by others
Remove or blur credit card number when submitting receipts for reimbursement.

Lifelock is America’s #1 Identity Theft Prevention Program. You can also avail of the LifeLock promotion code to use when purchasing an annual membership to Lifelock where you can receive 30days Free and $21 off the annual subscription price or should you wish to pay monthly, a 10% discount off the subscription cost will be given to you.

The Little Lamb

Hubby did a bit of cleaning and sorting out of dani’s toys and stuffs earlier this morning. We’ve yet to find a perfect storage where my daughter can easily retrieve them and put them back in attempt to be organized given the limited space in our house. It’s frustrating whenever I check out thebaby furniture section of local malls as there are only very limited choices. We also took out the crib we borrowed from my SIL.

It’s a good thing we didn’t buy any of those expensive baby cribs as we decided to co-sleep with Dani. Plus the fact that she doesn’t want to be in it most of the time.

Crazy Dog

From my dear friends, Toni and Mhay, maraming salamat! :D Balik ko na senyo tong award na to, kundi kakagatin ko kayo! :D

Abie, here's another one for you, i think natanggap mo na to pero iba pa rin pag ako nagbigay diba? hihi

A little bit of Marketing

As I recall (way back in college) about distribution the more hands your goods go through, the higher its price will be. That’s why it’s, more often than not, always best to directbuy items from the manufacturer itself. However, in most cases, one must buy in bulks to avail of their wholesale price. My favorite wholesale stores are mostly located in Baclaran and Divisoria. Too bad there has been a recent fire in one of the malls in Baclaran.

Wondering soul

Bummer, if I bought our CEB tickets for our HK trip this march today, it will save me P2.4K per head. Sayang, tsk. Oh well, there's no way I could've known diba? :p

Now, it's interesting to note that for P5k+/head we can actually to go to singapore.

I really need to fix our budget sheet for the year.

Autistic Mode

I forgot to blog about these cool headset I am currently using at home and at work. I lug this around with me everyday that’s why I can’t do away with a big bag nowadays. It was given to me (which is more like handed over) by my very own boss. You see, I used to own this pathetic looking headset of which despite it’s appearance serves it purpose naman. Pero my boss would often joke to me about it by saying “Juskupo, palitan mo naman yan!” To which I would answer back, “Naghihintay po kasi nang kapalit.” This has been going on for maybe a year or so already. Lo and behold, as I was about to go home, my boss appeared with this big black intimidating headset and said, “O, gamitin mo.” Just like that, I now have the pleasure of going on autistic mode with this baby.

This will have to do until then I will continue to dream of owning aBose home theater.

* Pardon to whoever is sensitive about autism

Home Schooling

Minnie forwarded me a link about 10 Principles of Schooling written by Bo Sanchez. Naisip ko na yan eh pero hindi ko pa lang masyadong sineseryoso. Napagusapan na rin yan ng mga Misis sometime ago.

First of, I'm currently employed so masyado yatang challenging sakin ang time management pag nagkataon. Eh I'm planning to work pa naman until I'm 35yo so that's five years from now eh di 6yo na si Dani non, gusto ko sana pag 4yo na sya start na kami.

I'm actually planning to enroll Dani in TLG Alabang this year (kelly yan po sana yung tatanungin ko sayo hehe) pero i've yet to discuss it with Hubby. Akala nya yata as in sa school ko sya ie-enroll :D Also, kelangan magbudget-budget muna hehe

In any case, I'll do more research on home schooling. I have an inkling this is something for me and Dani. We'll see baka naman ako lang ang may gusto haha

Boo to Zoo

I hate to see them caged but there's no other way I can see the animals lest my family and I go on a safari ;p goodluck kung makita namin lahat ng animals dun diba :p i fancy the thought sometimes, it would be a great adventure but the chances of that trip happening is far fro possible. now don't go telling me to go to zoobic ;p its quite close to the real thing but not quite the same thing. if you know what i mean ;)

anyways, i wont go into animal rights and how we humans violate them or go rallying for shutting down of zoos or shows. personally, its ok to put up a zoo for business but with consideration to the animals' welfare. now as for shows, i can manage not to see animals doing their human-like tricks ;)

on to the ark avilon snake biting issue. an email has be forwarded to n@w group warning the members of the incident. I haven't really researched on the details yet. Was it an albino snake that did the biting or the red, black & white thin stripped snake shown in GMA news? I wasn't paying attention to the news as we we're trying to put dani to bed.

Initially I thought that it was a 2yo child that was bitten but it was a 17yo teenager. Though some may argue that that fact wouldn't matter much kasi a person still got bitten. Pero I guess if it had been a toddler, mas nakakawa as compared sa teenager hehe. I understand if it was my teenager, I as a parent might react the same way. Not that I would go public hehe maybe post it on my blog and rant ;)

anyways, kaya naman kasi ko affected was because we just recently went there and dani and her cousin zach had fun seeing all those animals, including the snake and a photo opp with the snake. garry and my sister handled the albino snake and i remember the caretaker giving us pointers as to how to handle the snake properly as he gently began putting the snake on hubby's shoulders. of course i'm glad the biting incident did not happen to us then. whatever happened between the snake and the teenager is an accident and who knows what and how things went wrong. it was after all an accident and to totally prevent it from happening again is by putting the snake on a cage instead or close down the zoo all together.

But where's the fun in that?

moving forward, i do agree that the zoo should have an attended clinic much less a first aid kit for such mishaps. should the zoo be shut down by local government until then? hmm. i dont know. would you go into a zoo without proper facilities? its your risk. we took it unknowlingly, i guess we're just too eager to see the animals.

Weekend Photos

Yesterday I tried sorting out photos for printing hopefully within the week. Wasn't able to finish and now I have these to add:

dani snowman Hubby's tita gave this snowman chair among with other pasalubong. At first dani was hesitant to sit down on it pero ayan, kita mo naman enjoy na sya :D

This photo naman was taken sunday late morning. She's wearing her one and only shades she's worn here.

dani shades sepiaDi nagtagal, eto na itsura nya..

ayaw na magpapicture hehe :D bilib ako sa anak ko, ang galing um-acting! ;)

Saturday afternoon, we just went to SM Dasma to buy some groceries. We passed by San Jose Cabinets and bought this dish organizer (P5k+). They said it was originally priced at P10K :D Pagbalik sa bahay hubby got excited dinispose na agad ang lumang dish dispenser at naglinis ng hindi oras. Ako? Ano naman ang ginawa ko? E di ba nga nagsort ng photos for printing ;)

Carpool

Are you aware that the terminal at park square fronting landmark is already close? Another upper class hotel will soon rise on the said area. These my dear has a great impact on pitiful commuters like me. So hubby and I got to thinking maybe we ought to buy a bigger vehicle and use it for car pooling or as a transport service instead. Our route would be Dasma-Ayala-Dasma twice a day, one in the morning and after office hours.

Practically we prefer Used Cars but in very good condition. Almost all local forums have buy and sell thread so it will not be hard to search for potential cars online.
Anyways, plans are still on draft, we’ll see when the money comes in. *** 07.22.2012 - just received an email with subject: [P09821480000000000] Website Infringement / Malicious Link Building <-- for this post. For the record, I am pasting the email content here: Website Infringement / Malicious Link Building - http://www.myblog.kitakitts.com BuyYourCar.co.uk has over time been targeted by both malicious link-building (by sources unknown to us) and copyright infringement. Our attention was drawn to the following article - http://trafficplanet.com/topic/2369-case-study-negative-seo-results/ Where the same author also admitted being contracted to build NEGATIVE links to our site. btw. there seems to be some confusion on the example I showed, so let me be very very clear, justgoodcars.com was not the sole target, it was one of a top 5+ So just to clear things up here is a list of some more targets. As I said before to hit a very large brand like autotrader or exchangeandmart is hard but to target well known sites online that have little to no footprint outside of the web is easy and that accounts for the 99%. All were targets at about the same time last year (Jan/feb) and all have come to their demise in some way or another. But worst affected was justgoodcars.com, they are the only ones I managed to get 100% removed for their main keywords, others just rank very poor for them now. buyyourcar.co.uk + 4 other sites were then named The following sites have both content and links pointing to us, neither of which have our permission or agreed by ourselves. http://www.myblog.kitakitts.com/2008/01/carpool.html http://www.myblog.kitakitts.com/2008_01_01_archive.html We have made several attempts to contact the owners of these sites, by email and by phone where we can and each time we have formally requested the removal of all content relating to us or pointing to our website. We are now planning to take legal action against the domain owners (which may also include action against the host). We were hoping rather than proceeding with any legal action for copyright infringement or malicious abuse that you could support us in helping to get this content/links removed? It may be that contact from you, might carry more weight? I have good faith and belief that use of the copyrighted materials described above as allegedly infringing is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law. I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in this notification is accurate and that I am the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed. Evening

Just finished Claire Danes' "Evening" and yes admittedly there were some waterworks every now and then. Though it will not be included in my must-see again list, here's something I got out of it:

on parenting:
no matter what we do, whether we work or stay at home, we will still make mistakes. some mistakes they (our children) will instantly forget or still talk about even when we're already on our death bed.
good point when considering being a SAHM.

daughter to mother:
sometimes i hate you when you wear that dress because it means you're going to work.
makes me wonder what dani thinks whenever she see's me wearing my office uniform.

new lullaby song:
I See The Moon (Greg Brown)

I see the moon and the moon sees me
and the moon sees the one that I long to see.
So God bless the moon and God bless me
and God bless the one that I long to see.
I was able to grab Jim Brickman's version, an instant fave :D
Stargazers in YouTube

I am currently checking the thread to see what stuffs I missed or just to see the other viewers reaction to the said movie :D if you want heavy drama, great cinematography and love stories without the usual proper happy ending then go ahead, see this movie ;) Personally, I'm just glad for the characters as each had their own closure :)

01.08.2008

I didn't go online last night. I'm pretty much updated about your blogs through bloglines (at work hehe) though. I was planning to make myself visible in the blogsphere by commenting more. Instead I finished "HighSchool Musical" which I was halfway through yesterday's lunch break. Made me miss my school days ;)

Afterwards, I decided to watch "Stardust" which i previously watched alone. Maybe tonight I'll be able do more when I get home as it'll be saturday tomorrow.

I hope I can get a copy of "Twilight" book Toni has been raving about :D I don't want to buy it (retailing at P700+ in Powerbooks) as I don't really want to collect books. I just want to read them first and get them later if I really really really loved it. The chances of me reading them again are so slim so often I prefer to borrow instead. Maybe I'll check ebay.ph later.

Not expecting much online earnings for this month. I'm targeting a PR2 for the first quarter. Wish me luck :D

EDIT: hmm.. and i thought it was already the 8th of january hihi, anu vah! :p
