Fiesta sa Taldawa

Last Saturday morning, nagtext ang aking ina at nagpapatawag. Nang makausap ko sya, niyaya nya kaming umuwi sa Pampanga kasi piyesta. Somewhere in NLEX, we had a short stop, eat lunch at Chowking and drinks at Starbucks (coupons from hubby). So upon our arrival at Masantol, I heard my mom talking about a bangka waiting for us. It was then that I realized that we are actually going to the bukid, far from the bayan I was expecting.

My initial reaction was fear, not for the thought of me facing my relatives and them saying "Ang taba mo" (ha!) but fear for dani since it'll be her first time on a boat, not just a boat but a small bangka :p Idagdag mo pa ang asawang kong hindi gaanong marunong lumangoy. So ang ginawa ng lola nyo, inaliw ko na lng silang parehas with tales from my childhood memories. Sa awa ng dios, makalipas ng mahigit kumulang trenta minutos, basa man ng kaunti, eh nakarating kami ng maayos.

Masayang malungkot bumalik sa isa sa mga lugar na pinagbabakasyonan ko nuon. Iba pa rin ang kapanatagan na mararamdaman mo tanaw ang bukid at palaisdaan. Sana nadala ko ang camera ko diba ;p hintayin na lang natin ipadala ng kapatid ko ang kuha ko sa celfone nya at ipo-post ko agad dito pag nagkataon :)

O sya, dapat eh mga isang paragraph lang to, napapadrama medyo pero gusto ko man ikwento ng tagalog lahat.. ang hirap pala. It doesn't come naturally to me anymore..tsk..tsk. Must be my IQAir.

As promised, friday night before heading home, we passed by glorietta and bought this kiddie pool together with a decent pump. This morning, the weather can't seem to decide if it wants to be sunny or rainy. Thankfully, we had a bit of sunshine about 10am and that's when all of this happened. It was really nice seeing dani all happy with her new pool. I wish she had her cousins with her though and I bet it would have been fun times three.

Well that's about it, our happy weekend :D I hope you had a great one also!

BTW, sinama ko nga pala si dani sa office namin nung saturday. we watched dora while waiting for hubby, saka kami pumunta ng glorietta to buy the kiddie pool :D then we went to visit gabe and zach :D it was really nice to see them again..

Took this photo last wednesday when I was on leave. Dani doesn't have an inflatable pool yet so we made do with our trusty palanggana. It was good enough for the little girl but I did promise her we'll buy her an upgrade soon.

So I've read from abie's blog that Grissom and Sarah are engaged! :D I'm currently listening to Across the Universe OST and like my sister, I love Jim Sturgess more specifically his voice singing Beatles. I haven't blogged about the movie, but i've been wanting to see it since I've read about it from hmm. toni's blog it think :D Buti na lang may deebeedee sina mami :D I've also seen The Other Boleyn Girl, I tried focusing on his face and tried not to laugh seeing him in his costume :D Eek talaga kasi incest pero sayang hindi natuloy love scene nila ni Natalie hihi

Coding kami today, pero late na kami nakaalis, pano naman Dani was clingy this morning. Ayaw akong paalisin, akala siguro wala akong pasok kasi I'm not in uniform today. Later we're planning to buy a small pool for her. Enjoy talaga sya sa water eh. Just passing time while waiting for things to kick off here at work. It's friday anyways and most have this can't wait for weekend vibes with them including me.

Still no yaya. Our neighbor, two houses from our left, mentioned to my mom she'd love to work for us. She'll take care of Dani while we're away and then go home when we're back from office already. I'm not sure if it will work out for both of us since she also has two children to look out for. She reasons her husband is just at home anyway and can look out for them himself. Still, how will she eat? Will she eat at home or will she eat with her family?

The answer is simple, he makes me want to be a better person. He supports me, challenges me, loves me and forgives me from my mistakes. We may not be completely compatible but we surely compliment each other's strengths and weaknesses.

For all that, I'm glad I have him.

The School

Pardon the murky water, I just wanted to announce that the school is now composed of six fishes. We bought the additional four for P100 this afternoon. We went to SM Dasma to buy some groceries, of which must include Dani's Moo drinks. It will also serve as our meeting place with my Mom. As always, whenever we pass by Petsborough, we'll stop a bit and look at whatever animals are on display. Upon seeing the buy 4 for P100 promo for the goldfish, hubby suggested we buy additional pets. We also decided to get some lighting also and ended up cashing out P460+

Not sure how long our pets will survive the next time we evacuate the house.

My Banoffe

The other night, I was torn between buying Red Ribbon's Mango Cream Pie and Banofee Pie. I ended up with the former leaving me craving for the latter.

With the little girl asleep, I thought I might just try to make my own. Normally, I would have used graham crackers for base but I'm out of stock. I remember buying a small pouch of Quacker oats flavored with Banana and Honey. I took out the butter and left it to melt at room temperature. Meanwhile, I put a box of Nestle easy whip cream inside the freezer.

A couple of minutes after, I mixed the oats with butter and a little bit of hershey's liquid chocolate and laid it in a 6" bowl. In a separate bowl, with my magic white manual plastic whisker, I whipped the cream with sugar and a dash of instant coffee. After thinly slicing one piece of latundan banana, I began to layer cream first then bananas then cream then bananas, lastly, with the cream on top. Tried to give it some artistic flare with splattered liquid chocolate and off to the ref it goes to cool until ready to serve, just the right size for two.

It is not advisable to bring a stroller while on tour. People with weak knees are warned, staircases from the entrance and to the exit may prove to be challenging. Flash photography is not allowed. P400/adult and P350 for kids. Toddlers 2ft and below, i think, are free of charge. We have to pay P350 for Dani.

Drafted March 20: Bought the DVD a couple of days ago for only P150. I was actually torn between this or Peter Pan. Thinking I need a doze of romance, I bought this one instead. Fortunately, I got to watch it again today for the nth time.

I used to not get british humor. I still do sometimes but I try not to try too hard to get it as I might get a nose bleed in the process hihi anyways, getting sidetrack here.. my point is, what I really love about this movie is the various situations one can get caught up with in love. love, the romantic kind, does not choose what age, status, gender or language, when it hits you, it hits you. However, you are given a choice if you'll accept it, share it or hold back. it's your call. There are just too many stories here, but my fave would have to be the ones with no happy ending:

We're home

We'll be staying in our house this week :D my mom volunteered to take care of Dani for the next five weekdays. I'm supposed to call my cousin later, hopefully she'll have good news for me and we'll have a new yaya by mid-week. There will be another round of training and orientation, I'm not really looking forward to it. Makes me think if creating a manual I could just hand-over, give her an exam later to see i can trust my daughter with her.

I'll try to be online for the day, pay my tag debts, exchange links, post photos of our oceanarium trip, update myself as i've mentioned below. It may take me another week to be able to do this again ;p At the same time, new deebeedees are waiting in line, i've yet to create dani's guestbook layout for her birthday (thank god no more AVPs necessary). I still have 6 tasks from the sheriff so expect no lesser posts after this. What is an Outer Banks rentals anyways?

Movie: Penelope

Hubby bought me new supplies the other night and decided to watch Penelope first after I've read its good reviews from Y!Movies. Of course I'm not posting a movie critic as you know I'm too much appreciative to give a sound review. Anyways, I just love the colors in the movie which reminds me of Amelie so much. I haven't research about its technical details, also wouldn't mind watching its commentary. Every subtle detail was well thought of, such eye candy. Maybe later i'll visit the movie's forum at imdb. Ricci and Witherspoon both look younger here (that or i'm just the one getting old). As for the lead guy from "Becoming Jane", i like him better here, maybe its the character and the hair hihi I love the insights of the kids about their lovestory.

i bet they serve this in some hotels in Vegas :) i made this a couple of weeks back and shared it with dani. hubby of course would prefer to eat bananas than drink them. the combination just does not appeal to him :D but you know me, i love to mix and blend :)

anyways, what have you been up to this summer? I haven't done any extra curricular activities really but I've been meaning to run again since it doesn't rain in the evening anymore. I have gained 5 lbs, since blah and dani's birthday is weeks from now so i'd better buckle up.

last monday, since it was declared a holiday, we decided to pay oceanarium a visit. of course i've only been to HK ocean park so dito ko lang sya maco-compare. for you guys itching to see the place, i'd say give it some more time. dami pa nyang areas for improvement. i've yet to upload photos, i still have no web access after work, we're staying at my IL's that's why. not sure if we'll visit our house tomorrow, if so then baka makapagpost ako ng photos and kwento about it.

No such luck on yaya hunting ;p where will we be next week? *sigh*

yesterday was a techie date for me and hubby. we attended Microsoft's launch for its 2008 products (Server, SQL and Studio). i think i can reuse the ballpens and notebooks as adult prizes for dani's birthday party ;) of course i'm kidding. pero depende sa budget, pwede rin hihi of course i took home two HP blue balloons for dani and ate gerah. I had to carry them around the whole day looking quite silly pero ok lang, natuwa naman sila pagabot ko kagabi :)

party update: i'm giving up on the kiddie pool party idea, too costly. looks like we'll push through with kfc's barney theme.

finished eclipse the other night :D i maybe too tired to feel jacob's pain or i'm just too happy edward and bela's still together. can't wait for the next book and trying to keep up with the flick's updates :)

i certainly miss surfing the net, blog hopping and making myself more visible in the blogosphere. heck, my blog's stat plummeted to 12 visitors a day :p thanks for visiting anyways, your loyalty (or maybe boredom) is very much appreciated! :D

Yaya Sel has left us tuesday night, not sure when she'll be back. Meaning, we'll be living here and there and everywhere until we get another one.
