Thoughts astray

With my current state of mind, should I decide now, there won't be any orlando vacations or any other vacation in the near future :p Sure sure, thou shall not attract negative vibes with such thoughts. Think positive, wag kang aayaw!

I haven't been active in any debate or discussion lately. I am too self-absorb with my own thoughts to participate. In real life, I am wary to share my take on anything, specially politics and religion. Live and let live, ika nga.

Storyland - Ride All You Can

Back when we used to live in Las Pinas, I didn't had the chance to visit the spanking new attraction in Southmall back then. We got an invite from Hubby's officemate celebrating his daughter's 7th birthday in Storyland. She was having a princess theme and wore a pink gown much to Dani's amazement. The little girl just can't help touching the celebrant's gown.

She actively joined in The Boat is Sinking, one playmate stepped on her slippers caused it to snap and break. Deadma, she kept on playing hehe.

Before the party ends, the host gave ride-all-you can to kids. We didn't waste time looking for rides available for Dani. She had fun driving the jeep in FasTrak. Would it be bad if she ends up driving a tour bus or having any other odd Jobs in New York? Doesn't matter. One thing for sure, she had fun just being a kid one day at a time.

Our weekend task: Hubby on reviewing our auto insurance quote, me on preparing treats for Dani's classmates. M and I are trying to be very conscious in using plastic and it was her idea we use paper bags instead. After searching for some decor ideas, I searched for materials and luckily found the squiggly eyes and yarns buried with Dani's stuffs.

She helped me paste the eyes, cut the yarns and draw the cat's mouth. I remembered we have black corrugated paper and used it for the ears. As we put the candies, she helped with some herself despite hubby's warning look hehe Dani proudly gave it to her classmates and some of them wouldn't even part with it.

I didn't get to celebrate with my dad on his exact birthday as it fell on a weekday. Come early saturday morning, we packed our wii stuffs and headed for Manila. Active Life's Outdoor Challenge is a must have for family members who are looking for an alternative weight loss program and have fun at the same time. We spent the day sometimes bickering but most often cheering for each other.

I'm glad my dad liked my new dessert masterpiece: Peaches & Lychees in Cream :D It was a happy day for us and before we know it, t'was time to go home already.

Mami, don't get jealous as I posted dudung's birthday first. No photos on your birthday kasi :p Love you both!

Was on the leave the other day to go trick or treating around their school. Took a peak in their temporary classroom, some stuffs might be mistaken for discount classroom furniture but no biggie. Teacher said they'll be out there in no time.

We had to prepare for school earlier than usual. The princess was very excited to wear her costume after her bath. Thank goodness, it wasn't that humid. Kids had fun collecting candies. Afterwards, we took our fill eating noodles and sweet and sour pork in Chowking (SM Dasma). The little girl on the other hand nibbled on some chicharap.

We didn't linger that long and decided to go home as we can't wait to play our new wii games :D BTW, test papers for the 2nd quarter exam came a few days ago, she scored almost perfect except for one mistake :D Rankings will be revealed prolly next saturday.

This costume is reserved for dani's School Halloween Party on Tuesday. Our company is holding a Trick or Treat activity tomorrow and hubby says Dani'll pass due to classes *bummer*

Most of the shoppers in Landmark were grabbing candies and treats (ok, maybe one grabbed aCapresso), preparing for loots likewise. Bought some myself for Dani's friends. Planning to pack them in paper bags instead para earth friendly :)

We'll just scribble or maybe decorate the bags this weekend :)

At the hospital

Nope, I did not give birth :p My SIL did, five hours ago to a bouncing baby boy :D We were at hospital as early as 5:30pm, nagla-labor pa lang naka-tambay na kami sa room. Naturally, dani would like to sample the hospital bed. Pasado naman sa kanya, malambot daw and malakas ang aircon in fairness!

I was on leave for three days, my helper resigned. Having experience being SAHM again for a short period of time made me almost quit my work likewise :p Now I would be selfish and impractical should I pursue the thought. The boss texted me already this morning confirming my return date to which I promptly replied, "Tomorrow".

Bro, may baby ka na! I bet scrubbing yourcopper kitchen sinks will be on hold for awhile with all the nappy changing that's going to happen in the next few days haha

A Heart to heart talk

That's what I need to do with Dani's yaya tomorrow. While my SIL finally let go of her's, I on the other hand just informed me that she's planning to go home soon. Originally she'd like to leave this Sunday. I reasoned with her, in a pleading manner, to let us find a replacement first. After Dani's semestral break and we still haven't found one, then she's free to go.

UPDATE: I was even tempted to offer auto insurance (even if she doesn't have a car! LOL) but she's firm with her decision and left us just the same.

And so begins my quest for another helper. I borrowed my mom's in the meantime. Took a few days leave to orient her with her tasks. Dani was taking it all in stride and just said, "I have a new ate."

After Five Years

I've uploaded some highlights from our trip in Flickr. Some has side kwentos already. Not sure when I'll be able to blog in detail as our laptop gave in on us last week.

It was a short but fun trip, far better than our Davao.

Day 1
- We missed our flight by 10mins. Check-in counter said they closed the gate already even if the plane hasn't lifted yet.
- I was having mood swings (PMSy)
- Dani slept during the entire flight
- Had to wait for the bus to fill up (sayang oras)
- Land transfer took 1.5hrs (sayang oras ulit)
- First time to see the port

- Check-in was a breeze, great room, Dani loved it

- We had a very late lunch at Jap-Puno. No wall candle sconces here :)
