Two Bikes, a Wolf and The Moon

She was riding a pink bike together with her classmate, Bernie.  They climb up a hill and saw a wolf blocking their way.  She sped fast it but left her friend alone.  She went back for her friend who was happy to see her again.

* * *
She woke up from her nap and told me she had a nice dream.  She's quite a story teller, complete with details, phasing and cliffhangers.  It's just me who keeps on forgetting to write it down.

Every Step Counts

Yup, we are fans of Happy Feet :D Just watched Happy Feet Two in 3D. The animation and cuteness factors of the characters was well worth the price of the tickets the husband paid for :D

Now nampyeon has a new mission for tomorrow: grab a copy of the novel because we're quite excited to revisit the story again. We are currently on Chapter 6 of Mumble's Journey. Meanwhile, I am assigned to load up the OST in the little girl's phone ;)

Where's Waldo?

Zipline in San Gregorio Farm and Leisure
I'm practically tapping on my energy reserve as I write this.  I've been up and about since 4:30am for the little girl's school field trip.  Included in our itinerary are the following:
  • National Shrine of the Divine Mercy
  • Barasoain Church Light and Sound Museum
  • Nature's Spring
  • San Gregorio Farms and Leisure
I was a bit sad when I found out we'll be heading up somewhere North.  Now I've no regrets, it was exhilarating! :D  Just give me a moment to recharge and I'll share with you the details.

Nostalgia

a week old
In preparation for our long trip this friday, the husband upgraded the memory of the little girl's phone.  He figured she can listen to her tracks while we are on board or whenever applicable.  On the other hand, it is my task to load it up with her past and recent favorite songs.  As you can see, I'm digging the archives at the same time so expect some historical photos soon ;)

SMAC Thanksgiving Sale

Yup, I am on the lookout for wardrobe upgrade :D  I've been keeping an eye on a cream jacket and crispy white long sleeves top among the racks and it'll be perfect to grab them tomorrow and save me some pesos.  Got a bit sidetracked with my job hunting.  What? You thought I'll be a SAHM for good?! *sigh*

The sheriff gave me couple o' more tasks due on Friday.  The little girl and I will be on their field trip by then, so I have to finish those first.  Don't be surprised if you find some of my coming posts are dated already ;)

Mamon with Marshmallow Frosting

We bought a pack of Monde Fluffy Mamon (Original Variant) at the grocery.  I told Dani we'd eat them later after her nap.  I searched for Marshmallow Frosting recipe and prepared it while the little girl tackles her homework.
It really helps when you involve your child in the preparation of her food.  It maybe messy most of the time, still the fun factor and the opportunity for them to express their creativity was well worth it. It may not be the most nutritious snack we made together, I just try my best to make use of whatever we have in the house :D

I wanna snag me an Irishman

I was channel surfing while I was waiting for the (30mins worth of) ads to finish and for Imbestigador to resume when I chanced on the movie. The guy was ruggedly handsome *surprise* He had me at "idiot".

May I leave you with this quote from the Bride:
May you never steal, lie, or cheat,
but if you must steal, then steal away my sorrows,
and if you must lie, lie with me all the nights of my life,
and if you must cheat, then please cheat death
because I couldn't live a day without you.
Sweet dreams, everyone!

Generation Texters

Generation Z
Originally uploaded by kitakitts

It has been months since the little girl inherited my old unit. We were thinking it'll help the little girl improve her reading and spelling skills all the while encouraging her to express her thoughts and feelings via text messages. Really, it's not a status symbol kind of thing otherwise we would've given her an iPhone haha.

For practical reasons, we bought a prepaid sim card from the same network. Her phonebook contains numbers from people we know and mostly family members. We specifically instructed her to only send and reply to the ones in her phonebook and never accept calls from numbers only.

She sends around 2-3 messages a day. Most of the times I had to help her spell some words but she has a great recall and won't need the word to be spelled out again next time. On lazy days, she'll just send generic messages like "I love you" or "I miss you". (we have yet to teach her the templates feature). At times she'd share that she has guessed correctly the side from a toss coin game. It was kind of sweet-- receiving random and simple messages from the little girl.

Big Kid Sleeping Aid: Eye Mask

Eye Mask
Originally uploaded by kitakitts

Originally, I bought this eye mask for me. Recently I find myself having a hard time falling asleep even with the vaguest of light. I want total darkness.

One lazy afternoon, even when I know the little girl was sleepy already she just couldn't keep her eyes closed. So I asked her to put on the mask and try not to think of anything. If she can't clear her mind I asked her to imagine what I am about to tell her.

A meadow surrounded by beautiful flowers.
The soft sound of the water flowing by the stream.
The ruffling sound of the green grass blown by the wind.

Minutes after, I'll be hearing her snoozing away. Sometimes it backfires on me when her imagination runs away with her and she gets wind up again :D Kids.

Personally, it's THE place to learn korean.  I subscribe to their podcast and just put them on whenever I can :D  Just in case you're interested to learn yourself, pali ka!  They have reached Level 7 already and I'm still stuck in Level 3 *-*

For me --> Supplemental Korean Comics

Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Lights

Hubby proudly lit up the lights he had layout outside the house last long weekend.  Expenses aside, I think he is as excited about the holidays as the little girl.  Couldn't deny I'm all riled about it too, like always hehe Material girl alert! No matter how commercialized this season maybe, it's my favorite.  Nothing beats shopping for your loved-ones and the actual gift-giving.  Santita girl alert! I love Jesus more than Santa though :D

Route Pasta in Red Sauce

From the local market, fresh tomatoes are sold for P100/kg.  You can make your own tomato based sauce with peeled tomatoes and olive oil sauteed with garlic, seasoned with salt, pepper and basil leaves.  My brunch however was the recycled pasta I cooked last Sunday. I love the fact that it can remind you of wind spinners or wagon wheels :) Sometimes when your base sauce doesn't change much, using a different noodle can breathe new life into your pasta dish :D

Birdies Gone Mad

We see them everywhere and we can only resist for so long :D The little girl went home today with her doodles of the birds. Gave me an idea for a new paper craft.  Then again, we're running low on colored ink *sigh*

Masyadong matalino si Marquez hehe he waits for pacman to initiate the punches. Meanwhile, I have to go cook pasta for our miryenda ;)

For a change

I'm actually inspired by Jona's blog makeover that I decided to tweak likewise. I usually subscribe to feeds via google reader so I really don't get to actually bloghop and appreciate templates. For years I hadn't noticed my header banner was missing. In fairness to new visitors as this blog is suffering from maintaining regulars (teheh), surprise! It wasn't like a major-major improvement. I still have widgets to sort out. Baby steps muna.

Patience, my dear!

A house is not a home. Cliche. Still, my home is in this house and it's essential I make it homey.

Hubby came home the other night announcing that he saw another flora, two blocks away, currently undergoing major upgrade. Read: when is our next house project?

Come weekend, he invited me to join him for walk. Read: Spy on the construction. Nonchalantly, we walked and graze at the house but I dropped the act, stood still and took a good look. Someone noticed. He happens to be the one in charge and was actually walking just a few steps ahead from the owner. He kindly asked us if we wanted to see more from the inside. Qs and As were thrown in while peeking at different areas of the house. What with the undermount kitchen sink, the lighting, fixtures and finishing details, the COST, it's a bit overwhelming really.

Before we know it, we are chummy with the owner, who has invited us back to have another look when the house is finished already.

Life after Cameron

I miss watching House MD. I'm left behind by two seasons already. Took a peek at the TV Serie's site at FOXs. Didn't say if any of the characters had a chance to use medical computers at Howard-Medical.com, things are looking up in the House-Cuddy ship though. That's something to look forward to :D

Even if I wanted to get myself the latest episodes, it might prove to be more difficult than before-- what with the PIPA and SOPA monitoring file sharing sites.

Almost Gourmet Breakfast

Fast Food Breakfast: Moveover!
Originally uploaded by kitakitts

We forgot to buy bread and there's pancake mix in the pantry. Hubby had enough of silog meals for the meantime and woke me up quite early for these. Well actually he only had the pancakes with coffee.

Before facing my blog backlog, I leveled it up by adding bacon-cheese-tomato omelette. The only thing that might have gourmet-ize my meal is my homegrown (front yard hehe) basil leaves and palawan honey syrup :)

Still better than my usual fast food morning fare :D

Happy wednesday!

It is jollier to see the tree with presents underneath, ye? Done shopping gifts for the kids who are more appreciative (and deserving) than adults hehe

River Crossing Jr.
I think the little girl has played with it for only three times since and has solved five challenges so far. Sometimes I couldn't resist helping her and end up solving the puzzle myself.

I think it's perfect for older kids who will be more careful in keeping track of the small parts. This is a nice add to your christmas list though you can search for more options at Think Fun. Nope, this is not an advert, I simply love their items :)

Thanksgiving Wish

I asked my aunt what they'll be having for thanksgiving.  She's the type who really makes dinner events special.  She told me she might have to order an arranged from Bay Area flower delivery to prettify her table.  I can already picture her stepping out of the kitchen.  Walking gracefully towards the table, proudly presenting to her guests the star of the night -- Glazed Roast Turkey with Cranberry Stuffing.

I have to be honest, I don't like turkey :D  But I'll be eternally grateful to whoever will bake me that pumpkin cheesecake pie!

Sparkles
If you are on the lookout for perfect girlfriend gift ideas, why not make a nail care kit of your own :D  I know there are tons available that are pre-packed for you.  Some even promising an unforgettable spa-like experience.  Still, I like it when I know someone took pains in personalizing gifts given to me.  I know my sister will love to get some from The Face Shop.

About the photo:  The little girl's toenails are topped with Bobbie's Glaze Solar Burst polish price at P36-ish.  It has been weeks and they're still pretty :)  Totally an eye-catcher whenever she wears sandals.

Once upon a time, fondue was the in thing for desserts.  Haven't tried a DIY fondue yet though.  Should I ever, in the distant future, opt to serve one, it would probably be dominated by crackers or biscuits of some sorts haha.

When will I ever be able to taste this Ice Cream Fondue? Recently found a promo for their ice cream cakes.. ton opsoe.  I simply had to let go.  Oh the pains of not having moolah.

Mightier than Sword

I almost forgot.  The husband has this thing about pens and pencils.  On our wedding day, we gave pens as token for our male entourage.  Saw this maple set from personalized gifts for bar mitzvahs, I'm sure he'd gladly add from his collection.  Not that he gets to use each of them.  Last I check some has dried ink already.  If I remember correctly, he even gifted me with some and had probably lost them somewhere :p
