Review: Men Without Women

Men Without Women Men Without Women by Haruki Murakami
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I would be touched deeply if my lovers would write about me, my essence, the way the last chapter was written. Another sweet add to anyone's Murakami collection.

* * *
What goes around comes around..It was bound to happen sooner or later. The only question is when. p21

So in the end maybe that's the challenge: to look inside your own heart as perceptively and seriously as you can, and make peace with what you find there. p34

He issues three key pieces of advice: take your time and don't force things; don't fall into predictable patterns; and when you do have to lie, make sure to keep it simple. p86

That Wonderful Smell of Freshly Baked Cookies

This maybe an instant mix but fully appreciated by the tween.

Review: Fahrenheit 451

Fahrenheit 451 Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The narration got me hooked as I scan the first paragraph and found myself in need of breath I didn't know I was holding until the end. Great build up by Niel Gaiman by the way.

Didn't expect to find this here:

Don't judge a book by its cover p148

Other quotes:
Time has fallen asleep in the afternoon sunshine. p34

To everything there is a season. Yes. A time to breakdown, and a time to build up. Yes. A time to keep silence and a time to speak. p158
