For the first time since Garry and I moved in together, I was left alone in our home. My back is killing me (for all the cleaning we did yesterday) and couldn't go to work today. So here I am, all by my lonesome.
I spent the whole morning reading back issues of Real Living I bought last saturday. Originally marked at P120 per ish, I got the mar-apr and june 2004 all for P140 :D
Here's what i had for Lunch:
Bagoong Rice with Young Corn and Mushroom
Used some bahaw from last night's dinner, soaked the tutong with water for a couple of minutes, strain and poured into pan. Don't want a typical fried rice so I decided to spice it up with Barrio Fiesta's Ginisang Bagoong. Aiming for a balance diet (yah right!), added some buttered young corn and mushroom for garnish.
Classic Breaded Chicken Wings
What is more easier than to fry chicken ^^ I love my non-stick maxim pan, a gift from my brother and sis-in-law
Ube Halaya
This is a great treat from my mader-in-law, yummy!
Iced Tea with real Dalandan ducts
Sitting on top of our dining table is our fruit basket with one suha and one dalandan. I'll figure out what I'll do with the suha later and since my taste buds are already getting weary of tang-mangga juice, i grabbed the dalandan instead. No juicer in sight, I went manual. Sliced the dalandan horizontally and squeezed the first half in my glass with my other hand acting as filter for the seeds. Ang sarap nito, maalat-alat pa hehe after almost failing to create a wedge out of the other half, i squeezed the rest and added teaspoons of Earth & Sky Iced Tea. Mixed thoroughly, stucked the wedge on my glass and viola! a refreshing drink :D
It was a delicious lunch. maybe not for some, but what makes it as such is the proud feeling i have for the fact that I can take care of myself. That I am not afraid to be alone. Well, most of the time anyway ^^
Now for the hard part.. dish washing! ;p
