Guilty

Tune into that Frequency

After subscribing to seoulbeats.com, I felt patriotic and saddened by the fact that I'm at a loss with our local music scene. I'm afraid, Hale is the last band I took a liking to. And I'm not specific to a band, any local pop artist with original pinoy music.

Last week, I was able to hear the teenage witch perform live but I got turned off when I realized she's the one I previously heard with a recycled reggae-d song and not even an old one at that.

I'm hoping in the next few weeks, I'd get to rediscover true OPM again. Something to keep me company browsing through apidexin reviews.

Lucky penny = lucky girl + lucky boy. I liked the movie's effort to be realistic mostly when tackling the effects of pregnancy on couples. My favorite part was the men talk in the playground.

Stan asked the playground dad what it was like to have kids. Incoherently he explained, it's an awful, awful, awful, awful thing and amazing and then awful, awful, awful then amazing the awful, awful, awful.. awful... (Or something like that with full emphasis on awful). His kid came to him and says, Dada. To which Stan understood, something amazing like that happens and it makes it all worthwhile.

Relate much.

Mommies, what was you're backup plan? :p

Bonding Time

Bonding Time
Originally uploaded by kitakitts

I was hoping we could shop around, with most of the shops on sale and buy school stuffs. After having lunch with the parents, we decided to pass our time in a bookstore, grabbed books and lounged on the floor. We spent a good 2 hours here and the little girl was at home.

We are at home here
Did I mention, we're at home here? :D

The Reader
Little girl went home with this.

Tekeng got a Murakami, I'm next in line. Nothing about Lipofuze though.

PUV

Recap.

There's the trike going from our village to the main road. We were dropped off to the jeepney terminal going to SM Dasma and from there hopped on to a bus en route to LRT Buendia. After snoozing for an hour and a half, down we went and hailed a taxi to Landmark. That was quite a trip! My heart was pounding every second, hoping no tantrums or anything.

On the way, I saw an RV getting a motorhome towing service done. Other than that, trip was uneventful. Even so, if taxis were available I would have gotten one from the start.

Everybody's Fine

Not that I can relate to the level of lies told by the siblings to their father but at some point yeah I did take my parents for granted. There's a slight pinch to the heart there we can call guilt.

Though Everybody's Fine would also be a perfect movie to watch with your dad come father's day, if you haven't seen it I say go grab a copy now, pronto!

Fireflies, Owl City

Was browsing a music store one lazy lunch and found several albums by Owl City. I didn't listen to any though and noted some more interesting albums for later. To fans, I may have been the last one to know but hey I don't know much who listens to synthpop and similar genre. Sad.

So, it's (or he's) up in my playlist today and boy his words are mushy. Honestly, its not something I can listen to should I want to calm my nerves (which is like everyday ;p). All that beat literally makes my eardrums dance. I might pick just a couple of favorites and find other tunes to mix it up with :D

UPDATE: It's perfect for night time driving, zooming on the freeway, with the streetlights for full effect. For a while there, you're free to forget worrying about health savings account and just trip.

A few more sessions to go

from the big pool
Originally uploaded by kitakitts
I hadn't had the chance yet to capture dani swimming from end to end of the pool yet. Oh did I mention she can do it by herself without floaters. Last saturday, we took a dip again and she wanted to jump in the deep part. We were the only ones left so I was apprehensive to her request. I don't want to show her I'm afraid of the deep water so I gave in nonetheless. She jumped a couple of times, played with the pool bars and since it's midday already and the sun is at it's hottest, I asked her if we can call it a day already.

Obviously, we are still on summer mode. We hadn't seen the school yet since moving up day. Hopefully they've upgraded some school furniture the kids can use for the coming school year.

My MVP and Cheerleader

playing hoops with dadi
Originally uploaded by kitakitts
The other day, hubby was thinking he should get some form of exercise since his metabolism is not cooperating with his goal to stay healthy. He's not yet desperate yet to check some liporexall review to solve his dilemma. So, hubby and the little girl played some hoops, more like dribbled the ball, yesterday morning. It was just a short session with the summer heat and all but it's a start.

Dani: No, I don't like Ate Sol.
NB: Why?
D: Coz she's always saying the wrong words.
NB: What wrong words?
D: She's always saying putok. (Putok being her super powers)
NB: What are the right words then?
D: It should be utot, not putok.

Sus, Dani. You crack me up. With the laughter you're bringing in the house, I won't be needing the best acne treatment for my stress-induced pimples :D

Important tips for your ballot to count this May
(Re-posted from the Facebook note of Kenneth Yu)

I attended my barangay's seminar on the 2010 elections, arranged by the Captain Ralph Diaz. I learned a few things from Mr. Diaz about the election ballot that could be informative for all of us:

1. The ballot is very, very sensitive to marks, ink, water, stains, scratches, folds, sweat, etc. If, say, you have grime on your hands, or your hands are wet, or your sweat drips onto the ballot, the PCOS (Precinct Count Optical Scan) Unit will not read it. So, keep your hands very clean before voting. That is why the indelible ink will be put on your finger after you're done voting, and not before, and why you will be given your ballot in a folder, a "Ballot Secrecy Folder", so that you can lessen the actual handling of the ballot with your hands.

2. Shade the egg-shaped hole beside your chosen candidate fully (you will be provided with a marker). Don't check, line, X, dot, or half-shade it, because the PCOS Unit will not read it. Try not to go beyond the lines also (well, not too much).

3. There will be a barcode going around the ballot. If this is marked, even scratched, in any way, the ballot will be spoiled. If anyone else handles the ballot, watch them well, in case they intentionally scratch the barcode with a fingernail to prevent your ballot from being counted. For example, if you're obviously for a candidate that, say, an unscrupulous precinct official is against, that official may scratch your barcode to prevent your vote from being counted.

4. You will have four tries to put your ballot through the PCOS Unit. You can put it in forward, backward, front side up, back side up, whichever, but only four tries. If after the 4th try it doesn't read properly, goodbye ballot.

5. You will get one chance to have your ballot changed if you don't like it. That's when they first hand it to you. Inspect it right away. If you see any folds, scratches, or marks, you can ask for a change (which may lengthen your voting process).

6. Bring a list of your chosen candidates on a piece of paper so that you won't spend too much time filling out the ballot. If you make your decisions on the day itself without a list, you could spend a long time filling it up.

7. Watch the readout on the PCOS Unit when you insert your ballot into it. If successful, it'll read, "Congratulations! Your ballot has been scanned." If not, it'll say why (improper shading, etc.) Get that "Congratulations" message before leaving to make sure your vote is counted.

8. Bring an ID (Voter's ID is best, but if you don't have one, driver's license, passport, etc. any valid ID with your address and preferably a photo is all right) to present to the BEI (Board of Elections Inspector). If you can find out beforehand through your barangay, also get your Voter's ID number, precinct number, and your sequence number (the number beside your name in the voter's list). This'll speed up your voting process.

9. The ballot you are given will only be readable by one specific PCOS Unit. In other words, only one machine will be able to read your ballot, because it's pre-registered there, so when you're ready, line up at the proper machine. Don't line up at the wrong machine; your ballot won't be read, and it may spoil your vote.

10. Polls open on May 10, 2010, at 7 a.m. and end at 6 p.m.

11. Comelec said that with the PCOS Units, we will know the winner of the elections in 5 days. Otherwise, the PCOS Units will allow for a manual count since all votes will be recorded inside the machines (let's hope it doesn't come to that, because it's going to take the usual weeks and weeks to finish the count).

12. The PCOS Units have internal batteries that can last 16 hours in case of power outages. Since the voting period only lasts 10 hours, there's a 6 hour buffer. But still, let's hope for no brownouts on May 10, 2010.

13. The PCOS Unit will print out the vote count in what looks like a very long cash register receipt (whose print will last for 5 years), which will be put into a sealed box that'll be sent to the Comelec for proper counting. Also, the PCOS Unit will count the number of voters who are voting based on the ballots inserted into it, so again, watch the screen on the machine to make sure of voter count, as well as other important messages.

14. Vote only the exact number you should vote for. So, vote for only 1 president, 1 vice president, 12 senators, 1 party list, 1 mayor, 1 vice mayor, 1 member of the House of Representatives, etc. (the limit will be there on your ballot as a "Vote for not more than ____"). If you vote for more than the stipulated number, that particular portion of the ballot is spoiled. You may, however, vote for less (as in, if you can't find 12 worthy senatoriables to vote for, it's all right to vote for less than 12).

15. Come voting time, one should not make mistakes. Otherwise, you'll spoil your ballot.

16. Of course you'll also be asked to do the usual signing of forms and marking of thumbprints.

The Unsuspecting Husband

Iron Man 2 , originally uploaded by Dre Merc.

Yesterday, I got tired by being bored the whole day. I'm 1/3rd progressing through McEwan's Atonement, flickred through movie photos and today seems to be ending the same way.

At some point I came to realize that I love my husband. Issues aside, I really do love him. With days like today when everything is clear, I sent him the message and mere seconds later her reciprocated.

With my seatmate on leave, I'm left with my music and the world wide web to entertain myself. I saw Iron Man 2 is showing in the big screen later today. And so I asked the hubby if he wants to watch.

Phone rings. I answered. He laughs. And so he thought I said I love him just because I wanted a date today. Both statements are true but it wasn't deliberately done to prelude the other.

In between apple bites, I laugh to myself.
