It's the Swings Fault

Trying to prevent another boring, too much tv weekend, Dani and I decided to go to the playground for an early morning walk. Normally, I'd have her wear tights for protection. However, the little girl wanted to feel the cool breeze so she insisted on wearing only a pair of shorts.
Off we went with our ipod on full blast to the tune of Taylor Swift's You Belong To Me. Packed with water, strawberrry milk, cheese-mayo sandwich, cheese bread and coffee, we walked hand in hand. We weren't able to get to the swing immediately as some inconsiderate adults were sitting on it instead. We almost climbed a tree, the little girl tried the slide and we ate our breakfast.
At last the adults decided it was time to go and we had the whole playground to ourselves. Before I could take my seat beside Dani, she requested I give her a push. Like I always do, I told her i'll push her harder if she promised to hold on tight. Sometimes kids forget (and sometimes adults too) when they're having too much fun, danger is lurking nearby.
Anyway, it happened so fast, I saw her sprawled on her belly, sand all over her mouth, crying loudly. I took her to a bench and checked her face, arms and legs and saw the inquiry. Her right knee was slightly scraped and bleeding. So I half emptied the water bottle to clean the wound, used her socks to cover and put pressure on it. All the while she's wailing and crying like a piglet being slaughtered :p
Took a while before both of us calmed down. We were more worried about what the husband will say to us when he gets home later from work.
D: Lagot ka kay Dadi, mommy. You pushed me too hard.
K: Lagot ka kay Dadi, you told me to push you harder.
I think she may have to wear stockings for the Talent Show this Saturday. I might have to find her a different shoe then, maybe ballet flats.
