Shrimp Broccoli in Oyster Sauce ala K

Ingredients:
12pc medium shrimp, peeled
1/2 medium white onion
2 garlic cloves
3 tbsp Oyster Sauce

Saute onion and garlic in heated oil and butter. Add broccoli and wait for about 5mins until half cooked then mix in the shrimp. Season with salt and pepper. Once shrimp is pinkish, your dish is now cooked and ready to serve.

Probably okay for 3 pax who are light-eaters hahaha

UN Day SY 2015-2016

Took a day off from work and made sure to attend TLG's school activity as I missed the last one.


Prior to the actual program, achievers for second quarter were recognized. D's a bit sad as she placed third this quarter. We reassured her that so long as she did her best, no need to feel bad about it. Plus, there's always next quarter to do better.

Macaroni and Cheese ala D

Ingredients
1/2 500g pack of pastaZara macaroni
1 medium pack ChizWeez
1 250ml Bear Brand Milk
1 pc pork hungarian sausage

Half-cook the pasta for 5mins in boiling water.  On a separate pan, slightly fry sausage with a bit of butteroil. Add cheese spread and milk, stir at low heat. Drain the pasta and mix with cheese sauce.  Simmer until sauce is almost absorbed by the pasta.

You may try local brand for elbow macaroni though I prefer pastaZara as it doesn't get soggy easily.  I normally use Spam Lite or Ma-Ling as cheaper alternative.  I just happen to have left over sausages from last week.

Bet your kid will have fun whipping up this easy dish as much as my little chef did.

I was quite annoyed at bloggeroid this morning as I intended to have this posted already. Unfortunately, it crashed on me without saving it to my SD yet.  We're stuck in traffic so I was able to rewrite everything while passing time.

Despite Thunderstorms

Had a long exhausting day, the happy interesting fun kind. Not sure how I can nab some photos from earlier today as I am currently in rehab. I did something that I haven't done in ages and my fragile body (read: old) is suffering for it hahaha

I was ice skating with someone that might resemble no other than Alden (of the famous kalyeserye duo) to some mashedup Jonas song I prolly heard yesterday. He kissed me on my cheek and I gave him a peck as well.  Not part of the act at all.  Just because we felt like doing it.  After the stint, someone gave me a small chocolate cake.

Lately, I find myself nagging D about personal hygene my mom used to bug me as well when I was about her age.

Nakukulitan ako kay mami nun dati. I bet D's feeling the same way too, ako na nga ang makulit na nanay hahaha I need to find a more effective way to instill these bilins without nagging and makr her follow them.

Speaking of Mudra, nalalapit na ang bertday nya. Ottoke?! I feel like we're 60% happy and 40% sad during get togethers. Without the kids, it seemed like smiling is more taxing than usual.  I want to plan something with her as I know it'll be different this year. Esep esep muna.

Where it all began

Yes, I managed to watch the first two episodes yesterday!! I might actually be like the mom who's more worried about guests cancelling on her daughter's birthday party than what's happening in the real world hehe I would've crushed on Cal but he's a walker now.  Bitin pa sa gore pero I'm eager to see the next eps.

Ate cooked Beef Ribs with Tausi yesterday and made me miss you more, mga luto mo for me. My intention is to write this post to express how much I miss you.  I start to tear up every word I type.  Challenge ito kasi I'm currently out in the open and people will see me #emoterangfrog #kraykray lang ang peg.
I think I should do this more often and somewhere more private haha.

Two decades na tayo, bobolahin pa ba kita? Uso pa ba ecard ngayon? Sayang we're not able to spend your special day together. For all the times you've been there for me, good or bad, know that I am truly grateful.  Mahaba pa buhay natin, I'm looking forward to more memories with you. You have an amazing heart and I know He will reward you for it.

Graham Balls ala D

Ingredients:
1 small pack of Crushed Graham Crackers
1 small can Alaska Condensada
1 small pack of marshmallows
1 small pack of Birch Tree milk powder

Pour and mix together crushed graham and condensed milk. We need to cut the marshmallows in half before we squashed it with about a tablespoon of the mix.

Do not stress yourself on thos critical step.  Just use your imagination as to how to make it into a ball and have fun hahaha

Finally, roll the ball and cover it with milk powder.  We made about 25pcs excluding the ones used for "taste-testing."

Chill and serve whenever you feel like snackin'. ^^

August Wrap up

It's expected, TLG will grow and change over the years. However, I can't help bit wish for a pause button to savor each moment and milestone a little bit longer.
In some cases, I'd try to look back when I was her age and try to relate to her world. What kind of person was I, my likes and dislikes at the time? What made me happy or sad? Who was my crush back then (meron talaga hahaha)?
Anyway, what's more important is now. She was able to nab the Top 1 slot for the first time. I cannot take credit as I stopped making reviewers for her last year. We did try to establish effective study habits and reward system through the years. I'd like to believe that it helped.
I love you, pretty. We're proud of you!

Homefront: renovation is about 30% and we hope it to be finished by end of October. Not sure if it's on sched, that's hubby's area. I will delve into details prior to completion, paint selection and all that. Someone will be quite busy by then.

Spinach Fetuccini Bacon Mushroom Carbonara ala Kitts

Ingredients:
1x500g pack of San Remo Spinach Fetuccini
2x198g can of Jolly Mushroom Pieces and Stems
4x250ml pack of Nestle Cream
1.5pcs medium garlic clover, minced
2tbsp butter

Saute garlic, bacon and mushroom in olive oil and butter at medium heat. Put in the cream and adjust to low heat to avoid curdling.  Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Better recipes and inatructions are out there.  This usually works for me with approval from the kids.  Sometimes I add a can of cream of mushroom, pampadami or as thickener.  Served with toasted garlic bread and parmesan, panalo! ^^

We weren't the best of friends in our younger years. Truthfully, it may have something to do with you unintentionally stealing my "Only Princess" title, typical sibling rivalry.  Looking back, nakakatawa na lang ang mga kwento.

Turns out you helped me a lot as I learned how to be more patient and caring to another person. It was easier for me when Dani came.

Unselfish and unconditional love.. that's what I will continue to offer you.  I am here for you.

Pretty intense scene from Execution. I was quite surprised Chief pulled out a gun and did what he had to do. In the end, I felt relieved just as he did.


I'm worried about Matsuda though. Story took a wild turn and prolly premeditated by our Genius Light. Bet his brains can burn all 400cal from L's cake slice in just minutes.

Failed to catch how long is her remaining lifespan after making that deal to obtain the shinigami eyes. As I recall she got the remaining lifespan of the shinigami who rescued her that night. Oh well, on to the next ep.

KDrama Short: Taste of Curry

It wasn't what I was expecting but it was a heartwarming story nonetheless. Goes to say that people have different perspective of a certain scenario and has to be careful not to overthink. It's always better to communicate, be honest to avoid confusion.

I will be seeing this view more often as part of the daily grind. My stakeholder bears no grudges and thinks that maybe my Dad is still guiding me with this career fork ahead of me. I wonder what made her say that.

The Good Life

I made this via textgram. Thought I'd share with you some words from One Republic. Nice, no?

We headed out to Dani's training as early as 6am. Afterwards, we visited Dra. Angel for her tooth extraction. Ate lunch at Bonchon, The District Molino. Bought groceries for the week and returned home.

TLG is napping as I write. Might as well join her after posting this.

Life is a highway

There are safety rules to follow. Sometimes it's exhilirating to break the speed limit and just speed of to your heart's content. However, one must be aware of the danger not only to yourself but to others who share the road with you.
I believe we will eventually get to our destination. It's a matter of making the most of our journey. For us to be able to say that in the end, it's time well spent.
