Doubt if I can pull off something like this with hubby but heck maybe i'll try someday hehe

Last year, we weren't able to attend the children's party organized by Greenwoods Social Committee. When I was volunteered to help with the venue's decoration, our attendance is automatically confirmed weeks prior to the event unless something else important comes up.

Anyways, I decided to stick with blue and silver as a refreshing break from all the green and red. We used aluminum foil for drapes and hang snowflakes and candy canes. I was somehow worried that I might not be able to pull it off but with everyone's help, we had the decors in place an hour before the registration.

Dani wasn't able to participate in the games yet but that's ok. I'm just happy she nibbled on some chicken come lunch time plus she did enjoy the ventriloquist's show. We had to leave as soon as the party ended as hubby needs to go to work that same afternoon.

Together with yaya and dani, we trooped to Toy Kingdom in SM Makati to scout birthday gifts for ate gerah and kuya mickey. Naturally, the little girl will spot and pickup toys she'll fancy as we go along. I was really planning to buy her a toy cam but the Dora item was way expensive. We settled for Nemo priced at P299.95.

Suffice it to say, Dani liked it a lot. Come bedtime, she asked for her toy camera and placed it beside pup. It was only then did she allow herself to finally succumb to sleep.

despite my absence in the blogosphere, the sheriff has been kind enough to give me assignments. considering the holiday expenses, i might need extra moolah afterwards. Hence, my thoughts on home theater seating will have to take the back seat until we upgrade our tube hehe

Gone hunting maybe

can't help but let you know my take on twilight stuffs. i did download the soundtrack prior to watching the movie and though I didn't like it much, i decided to wait how it'll fit in the movie before giving my full judgement. i wasn't really aiming for premier tickets and really avoided the internet to resist temptation of viewing the film online. come friday night, an all-girls-nightout with minnie and ate keng, with high hopes and poise in check (as i vowed not to shriek or gush), we finally saw the movie. I was surprised of the style and cinematography as I wasn't expecting it to be indie-ish. With that I can say that the OST did fit the film. I've already imagined Full Moon to be used somewhere during a long drive and glad to see that it was used when Bella was on her way to the airport.
I particularly like the part when bella stepped out of edward's car, cue Spotlight, I was sort of floating/gliding with the couple as they passed by shocked forks students. May I add that the intimacy of their kissing scene suprised me, call me.. conservative.. but I didn't expect that much, it was trully intense, whew!

i just finished reading midnight sun (draft) the other day and would love to read the rest should SM push through with the book :D

ok, just wanted you guys to know that i haven't turned into a vampire yet and went hunting with the cullens. just in case you were wondering about my absence in the blogosphere, i'm still a warm-blooded, super-stressed human.

Luggage in tow, there's a family occasion of some sort and I saw some of my relatives, tita beth particularly, she said, sinabi ko lang may pagkain nagsialisan sila

I was chatting with Jolen and Jason about Dani and just hear dani cry, she was looking for me.

We were in a big boat and we saw a storm coming. It was dark everywhere and we were thinking of getting off the boat when we saw other ships being swept away by huge waves.

luckily we survived with three others (i assume are my parents) and we saw another human but not sure if he can speak. i was mentally selecting records thinking of the tables multiple foreign keys, 4 columns to be exact.

82 is a BIG number

Mamay celebrated his 82nd birthday during All Saints Day. Although his actual birth date was last Oct 23, we picked this date so everyone has a greater chance of dropping by. My relatives from Canada were able to take a break from their likewise busy sched to celebrate with us :)

Here's Dani with some of her cousins :) I like her pigtails and she agreed to wear the skirt we've had since she's one and didn't get to wear until now :p

Sunday, Oct 26, we trooped to McDo Cabuyao, Laguna (felt like we're heading for the Outer Banks) for Kurt's 2nd Birthday Party. Guests were requested to wear stripes but Dani's were all small na so we just turned up in Plain Pink. We're sad we didn't get to finish it as kulit is getting cranky already. I think its because the place was crowded and she didn't have much space to loiter around. The host is super hyper but I think she needs to control her voice's decibel lest we all go home

Dani at 30 months

She's really a talker now :D Although we sometimes have our own vocabulary (as others just can't decode what she's saying), we understand her 90% most of the time :) She has a new Jollibee cd handed to her by her cousin and she's learning english and tagalog words from there. Sometimes she'll mix the two in a sentence like: I'm kumot my hands hehe

Her statistics:
Waist - 25"
Chest - 24"
Height - 36" (and a couple of centimeters or so)
Weight - 40 lbs



I'm contemplating on giving her a second hair cut but I just love her curls. We'll just have to use conditioner once a week maybe :)

She's so malambing pa rin and I get unexpected hugs and kisses from her.



She now has 13 pearly whites :) Her upper and lower canine has just erupted but are only about 10% visible. Sometimes she doesn't want to brush but I think its just one of her attempts trying to see if she's the one in charge now. In such cases, I just rub her gums and teeth with cloth or cotton buds :)

Family Feud

So, hubby was passing time the other night playing family fued online.  I got curious and a few minutes after, I'm almost shouting the answers at him, getting frustrated when can't type any slower :p  We were so into it trying to be the highest pointer.  Until, this trick question came up:

Q: What do you do with pennies?
Me: M@sturbate!

That got us laughing so hard, we ran out of time giving the right answers :p

Scales of a Dragon

Midday, Hubby, Dani and I went to check out a restaurant near by a beach. Lots of young people sunbathing, frolicking in the sand. I looked behind me and saw the water level was rising. I turned back and started searching for Dani and Hubby.

We were in a building with white walls and bright lighting. I felt someone was watching me. I went to the nearby fire exit, wanting to follow a man I saw who just boarded the elevator going up.

I saw drippings of soda and ice. Someone spilled his coke several floors from above. I didn't want to climb the stairs further. Exiting from another floor, slowly I pushed the door open.

A troll (complete with white beard and a pointed hat), startled upon seeing me, started to panickly push me back to the door.

Trick or Treat 2008

Kids and kids-at-heart enjoyed the Homeowners Trick or Treat Activity

Scared of you

Despite busy schedule and deadlines, our company's EWC managed to pull off an early Trick or Treat event for our kids yesterday.

Buti na lang nakisabay kami papasok kundi mas maaga pa kami dadating sa office. So umaga pa lang nanggugulo na anak ko hehe

She was everywhere. Nagustuhan nya yung sofa sa lounge area ng Office of the President. Buti na lang wala pang tao :D

Ok din ang maaga kasi may photo opps agad :D naka-mood pa

We brought with us her DVD Player so sinetup ko malapit sa table ko which made her sit still.. for a while until ikot na naman. By 10am she requested na for milk and I know she's sleepy na rin. Our VP previously gave a go signal that we can use his room for whatever reason while he's gone. So dun pumwesto ang anak ko for her morning nap :) It was almost 1pm when she woke up.

The other night, napuyat ako sa pagbabalot ng treats. Gusto ko kasi may iabot si dani sa ibang kids to serve na rin as ice breaker :) She made lots of friends, kids and adults kasi dami rin natutuwa lagi syang nakasmile :D

Sakit ng katawan ko ngayon kasi nagpabuhat sya the whole afternoon. We also need to visit the other building eh if we want to get treats from other department. Ok din ang decors ng iba, mostly nakakatakot :D Buti na lang hindi masyado natakot si Dani kahit na madilim sa ibang areas.
Dani doesn't have any of Clifford's books yet kaya hindi pa nya sya kilala. Pero ok lang, tuwa pa rin sya sa mascot.

They also gave a short Jollibee party for the kids at syempre andun si Jollibee. I don't have my cam with me na kasi nga buhay ko si dani while ate glenn naman is holding her treats and other stuffs. Will try to get a copy from the others tapos post ko dito pics nya :D

We just waited for hubby to pick us up. While waiting, dani saw this christmas tree at the lobby, hindi ko napansin nakapag-setup na pala sila. She loves to ride the escalator so pumayag lang ako twice and then I told her its enough na. Buti dumating na rin si hubby kundi maglilikot pa yun talaga.

The sky is starting to clear up as I write so sana hindi kami ulanin pag naglibot mya. My daughter's eyes literally lit up when she sees treats and candies, kakatuwa. Ok lang naman to let her eat sweet stuffs today, minsan lang naman eh ;) Malamang repeat ang costume nya hehe unless she prefers the crab hat :D

Overall, happy na ko she got to wear a costume for her first trick or treat experience :D

After watching Bridge of Terabithia, I'm left all choked up with red puffy eyes and runny nose with the kind of "My Girl" dejavu ending.

Far back nursery, I can remember walking hand in hand with my schoolmate. He has this bunot hair cut. Can't quite remember if he's in my class.

When I was in Prep, I would give my baon to this boy whom I would pave way should I have been first in the slide. I never held hands with him.

Third grade, I felt my world ended when my best bud told me he'd be transferred to an exclusive all-boys school by next year. He's thin but taller than most guys, has a fair complexion matched with blondish hair. A couple of freckles sprinkled across his nose from one cheek to another. A certain Anthony Russel Bulacan. We held hands one time on our way to the chapel.

I wrote my first crush letter when I was in my Fourth grade. I don't know if he ever did find out it was from me. I handed it to him and told him it was from my cousin who saw him one time. I didn't get the chance to hold his hand.

I was paired with a boy for our flag retreat. Our hands touched as we pull the flag down and fold it in place. I thought I'd marry him someday. Kidding.

In the middle of a class, with my head on the clouds and my chin on my right hand I stared out of space and my mind started to wonder. Minutes passed by and something or rather someone called out my attention. Dexter S., seated a couple of rows in front, looking at me as if wondering why the hell am I staring at him. It was then that I really saw him. He's cute pala. My mind is trying to remember as whether he winked at me or playfully stuck out his tongue instead. Ah now I remember, he just smiled and waived his hand to me. We danced the waltz one time.

Summertime. My best girlfriend, Annie (who has a crush on bardino) and I would spend our afternoon hanging out in the nearby college ground. Tiffany's "I think we're alone now" will always remind me of this boy who sang and dance with me. I think he's Mark Rivera something.

I had a neighbor best bud, he'd tell me his chicks escapades. A two-timing sophomore mongrel on a mission to break hearts and make girls cry. He'd give me three small melons just because he knows I love them. So you think I'd be thrilled when he wrote me saying he fell in love and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I never allowed him to hold my hand since then.

Through the years, we've had a couple of kodak moments here and there in Tagaytay. I wasn't that much excited when my initial plans did not push thru (obviously due to budget constraints). Turns out, we've got a few more to add in our memory lane.

We were set to do an early horse backriding beside Josephine's and proceed to Hawaiian BBQ for lunch. Lazy bones got into me plus it might be scorching hot by mid-day, we decided to swim first instead. As expected, Dani was tired after all that bouncing in the water, we were out of the house by a few minutes past 3pm.

Halfway to tagaytay, rain started. We passed time eating beef noodles in Chowking. Buti na lang, we had sunshine after our snack. So tuloy ang ligaya! :D

By 6:30pm Dani's already feeling at home in The Boutique's lobby area :D Two hours later, we're back in our humble abode ;) Anoher day well spent.

Tagaytay: Picnic Grove

By the way, may bagong attraction sa Picnic Grove ngayon: Zipline and Cable Car. Based kanila manong Zipline will cost you P200/pax - one way or P300/pax - two way. You will need to pay P200/pax for the cable car. Medyo mahal tapos maikli lang yung line. As compared sa nakita namin sa Eden Park (kay susan tayo episode), parang mabagal yung zipline dito, so pass muna :D

I guess we didn't know yet the proper pairing of menu items so nasuya talaga kami sa karne. Medyo manipis kasi yung blue marlin as in single serve lang sya tapos the veggie tempura was dry din. Better siguro if we have steamed or buttered veggies. Maybe if I ordered the honey-mustard flavored ribs instead para maiba.

Not sure if there will be a next time, we'll see ;)

Still on a holiday

Yup, hubby and I filed a vacation leave until tomorrow :) our connection seems to be cooperating. Yesterday three smart bro staff went here to check on our connection. They suggested we add another meter or two to increase the height of our wifi device. Hubby didn't want to kasi bubutasin na naman yung bubong namin. Not sure if there's a counter part of cell signal booster for internet, meantime hubby decided to apply for PLDT's myDSL plan. We'll see two to three days from now.

Weekend Photo: My First Airplane Ride

It was my first time to hop on the airplane ride. Buti na lang ate gerah was with me. My parents were half-worried half-excited, I can tell by their face. The ride started, I was smiling and waving hello as I pass by them. Turn after turn, fun's starting to fade and I just wanted the ride to stop. I cried as the operator didn't stop the ride immediately. So much for my first ride. -- Dani

Tuesday Wootday

Yey, I finished the last installment of the twilight series! :)  Can't say that I will read it again but I like the series as a whole pero parang gusto ko pa magkaron naman about possible love triangle nila Jacob-Nessie- Nahuel tapos POV naman ni Nessie hehe

Now I can't wait to get a copy of Griffin and Sabine Trilogy, someone from our group asked suggestion for future readings ayan, nagka-idea na naman ako :p

I am dizzy daisy

I've been feeling lightheaded since yesterday. Not quite sure if its because I've been rushing to finish Breaking Dawn or if its because of the suaje I ate for lunch yesterday. I think I have to schedule another cholesterol count session just to be sure, tsk.

I had a dream this morning, something about me in an airplane with my brother. Forgot to take note and I can't remember specifics anymore, tsk.

I did mention that I was on a training since Wednesday. Come lunch break, me and my colleague shared a seat with two guys from a different class. Small talk comes with sharing a seat so we touched on tools/technologies we've come across and somebody mentioned Pascal. G admitted to using it one time in college. As the guy from my left is obviously young and he is pretty, trying to conceal my age, I told them I've heard about it and got teased by my seat mates. Later as somebody's quite persistent in knowing my age and we were each asked our college grad batch, I did honestly answered this time. Pretty guy graduated two years ago, man oh man did I suddenly feel Jurassic :p

We went to my mom's last Saturday to celebrate her 52nd natal day :) I made crunchy chicken potato and beets salad. Yesterday, I cooked cassava pancakes for miryenda and Tanigue steak + buttered veggies for dinner. Hopefully, I'll be able to post photos later :)

Nurturing Imagination

What do you tell a child when she says that the grass is color blue?  If I correct her and say that the grass is green, am I not limiting her imagination?  So I just say, the grass is green but yes, sometimes it is blue.  

Pwede na ba yun or will that confuse her in the future? :D

Sibling Love

I'm just glad my brother's home, with or without pasalubong (although mas masaya kung meron hehe).  He arrived on the dot last night from Chicago.  He didn't get to do much during his 2hr stop over in Japan, sayang no royce nama chocos for me :p di bale, there's always next time (or greenhills for that matter) hehe.

There was a moment last night that made me realize how much Dani would appreciate having a sibling.  Whatever made me think of having only one child mostly must have been for selfish reasons.  

So now, it's a question of when ;)  This is just me thinking out loud, so don't get too excited, ok? :D

Potty Trained @ 27 Months

No more diaper bumps on her dress, yey!

Yes, we rarely have accidents now as she knows when she'll do No.1 and No.2. She still wears diaper during her daytime and nightime sleep though but immediately takes them off when she wakes up.

She has a potty trainer but didn't get to use to as she prefer to do her thing in the bathroom itself. Good thing we were able to buy a toddler toilet seat for her :)

Next thing we know toddler computer desks naman :)

I woke up at 2AM and went online while selecting mp3s to burn to listen for our daily commute (not so fond of radio ads). Have you heard Chris Brown's version of Irreplaceable? Aliw lang haha.

Hmm.. parang pang plurk to pero nagtatago ako dun eh ;)

Saturday morning, I was supposed to have a day off with O which did not pushed through due to uncooperative weather. Anyways, in between planning I considered the thought of hiring a driver for our tagaytay getaway.

Sabi ni hubby, parang gusto mong ihatid at sunduin ko kayo mamaya. Sabi ko naman, ayaw kang isama ni O (hehe)

I texted our kumpare if he or his brother can drive for us instead but they have a family affair so hindi pwede. He asked me bat hindi na lang daw ako ang magdrive. Magpractice na daw kasi ako.

Sunday morning, on our way back home from the market, hubby stopped Xeon and asked me if I want to drive the rest of the way. Prolly about 2-3kms more. Syempre, I grabbed the chance and literally grabbed the wheel hehe.

It was months already since my last practice so imagine my shoonga self pressing the brakes instead of the gas pedal when trying to kick start our car.

K: Hmm.. bat kaya ako hindi umuusad?!
H: yung paa mo nasa brakes.

Cassey, dani's cousin, turned one last Saturday afternoon. As I am tamad mag-effort in putting up dani's attire for the said party, I just got her to wear this :) Almost everybody commented as how BIG she is for her age. She's wearing a 5t shirt and a 4t skirt which probably made her earn such comments. My cousin's MIL gave an unsolicited advice telling me: "Dapat i-control na yan kasi alam natin nakakatuwa at cute pag mataba pero mahirap na."

I just gave her my fake smile with a thought bubble screaming defensive remarks. Kainis.

Anyways, yours truly got to host some games for the kids. Sinabak ako ng tita ko, very much unprepared, napagod ako dun. When I was calling the kids sabi ko sali na't may prize ang manalo. Lapit ang nanay ng maybirthday at sabay bulong: "Ate, anong prize?"

Hala, wala bang prize?! Kalurkey! Maya inabot na lang nya sakin ang prize money na sabi ko eh maya na lang kunin ng mga bata. Ang siste, natapos na yata ang party, hindi na naclaim ang prizes hehe nagkalimutan na :D

Techie Date

Hubby and I registered for a Microsoft event last week. The forum was held Friday afternoon at Dusit Thani. It covers new features of SQL 2008 with demos. I can't imagine hubby doing sql scripting to manage the said database platform and teased him about it. There's always the studio for less effort, that's why it's there in the first place :D We're still stuck with 2000 and 2005, didn't include an upgrade for next year's budget.

I love the fact that hubby and I can go out on techie dates. We're there as professionals so no coupling and mushy stuffs. Still, with all our personal differences, I'm glad we can relate to each other in this field :D

When she started talking, tita candy would read her Moo, Baa, Lalala and she'll finish the sentences with the right animal sounds.
Tita Candy also bought her The Sunflower Parable and we'd read it to her every night before going to bed until Dani wised up and avoided the book if it means delaying her bedtime.
She also likes playing with the holes in The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It was only recently did she like to read Goodnight Moon but she never tires of Counting Kisses.

Yesterday, we spent the day offline. Picture me watching "The Happening" in our laptop, Dadi's watching "Wanted" in the big TV and Dani watching "Firebird Rescue" in the small TV all at the same time. Hindi naman kami couch potatoes. We were able to make up for it by taking a dip in our clubhouse's pool late afternoon.

To tell that the little girl was tired is an understatement hehe After magbanlaw at magbihis, she didnt have any qualms when we turned off the lights. She went to dreamland seconds after finishing her milk.

We'll be malling today. Not sure if i'll be able to blog when we return. Hope you're having a great sunday!
